@risingaction.bsky.social Is there any hope for this team? This situation feels worse than the end of the Boudreau era. Top end Centre's are so hard to find. Out of the 4 top level Centre's that have been through Van in the last 2 years, the team kept the worst one, with the worst contract.

Get some draft picks. We have next no centres in the system whatsoever.

@risingaction.bsky.social I mean, it's not like the women going left wing after triggering fascists/wannabe dictators. I think most centre minded people are worried because young men are not just going right wing, but they are going radical right wing

I get there is cap considerations, but I would prefer to not play him in the AHL during international break. Why risk it
comment in response to post
He's really got to drive to the net more and start finishing hits. He's playing like a high skilled forward and sticking to the perimeter. 80% of his goals last year were within 10 feet of the net. I don't get what he's doing right now
comment in response to post
Well he said after the game he'll be at the 4 Nations. So i doubt he misses any games

Why were three fairly successful businessmen so afraid of investing in this team? They were getting 25k/game with one of the lower salaries in the league. 30-40k with more winning and better players was very doable.

This ownership group never really saw the big picture. A big star would have likely sold more tickets, jerseys and got free PR. Also, star players already know the responsibility of being star Instead, they got budget DP's who have done little to nothing for their bottom line.

At this point, does it really hurt to just wait till the end of the season? Why is there a rush if you can't get anything back? They've survived 5+ years together. What is another 2 months?

Well I am a working class indigenous person, and i assure you the last people we relate with are affluent academics. Maybe one day you'll realize why Trump, Ford, and soon Poilievre all keep winning, while getting people to vote against their own interests.
comment in response to post
Almost no one is going to the net. Debrusk and Brock score 90% of their goals in that area, yet if you look at advanced stats, they have not touched anywhere near the front of the net in the last 10

One day, the far social left will figure out they are the reason MAGA exists. Can you just go one day without alienating centrists? Some of us want labour policies, but don't care about geopolitical issues or performative SJW nonsense. The NDP is a workers party, not a party for affluent academics

As the sports media landscape gets more decentralized, I assure you, less and less fans are going to listen to journalists who toe these league's lines. There is a reason Barstool and the Pat Mcafee show do better than 90% of ESPN's current content. You're keeping this narrative for yourselves

Look at the advanced data through KC's last 20 wins or so. Look how many times they win the penalties battle and look how many bad calls have gone their way. Is the sports media ignoring the obvious supposed to change what everyone's thinking? Why don't these data anomalies happen for anyone else?

The guy has just stopped shooting.

That you like a guy who sexually assaulted a woman at a Christmas party?

Same fanbase who was okay with the team hiring a GM who wrote a reference letter for a rapist, who went on to rape a bunch of kids.

Allvin has played the waiting game to the point where this team just imploded and unlike Homer, he wont just give up and play Hungry, Hungry Hippos
comment in response to post
They play a low event defensive style that does not allow much offence, and yet they still constantly have defensive breakdowns.
comment in response to post
Same thing every game: -Dump puck in -Change lines -Sit in defensive formation in own zone
comment in response to post
-Sit in defensive formation -Chip the puck out -Dump the Puck in -Change Lines -Answer questions post game about why this team can't generate offence. Rinse and repeat.
comment in response to post
he's MAGA trash
comment in response to post
The best d-man of his generation is stuck playing in a trap system, with a team who hates each other
comment in response to post
Abandons the scoring chance by skating backwards and then throws it to no one at the wing
comment in response to post
Why are they sticking with a low event style when down by 3?
comment in response to post
They just did it, again. Everyone is 30 seconds into their shift and abandons any offence to change, so they can have fresh legs back defensively
comment in response to post
Can we also stop dismissing coaching? How many times do the Canucks get the puck in the opposing zone, just for everyone to change and more or less just forfeiting possession. At some point, you have to prioritize offense when you're constantly trailing.

JR and Allvin have clearly just given up on a season, where they marked tickets up 30% and concessions 25%
comment in response to post
Season before that, they were $39. I have season tickets now and $179 is more than what we pay per seat, per game. For two teams who don't generate any offence, they are out of their freaking minds asking this. Im not even going tonight. $25 concessions ends up costing too much.

At least the Bruce era Canucks were at least fun to watch

Again, think there are important points, but more of you really need to be in that culture. Because your assertions about the bigger breadth of hockey culture are just not true. They are select examples of actors who most people dont even like. IE Babcock is a prick and racist. We all know that.
comment in response to post
Some of you come off like you've only ever been around people who share your exact views and villainize anyone who dares not adhere to them. Locker rooms force you around people of all backgrounds and you have to have personal relationships with them that supersede those views.
comment in response to post
I would REALLY suggest, for anyone wondering about hockey culture, to go join a team. There are beginner leagues and you can get cheap equipment if you look hard enough. Yes, there are bad actors, but 99% of people have always been really good human beings.
comment in response to post
There is a lot of assertions about what happens in locker rooms that I've honestly never seen. Too many of you see select examples that make the news and think that is the norm.
comment in response to post
I don't necessarily agree with every point, but an important read

So Nylander's high stick was just ignored?
comment in response to post
So Leafs games have prolonged intermissions? This is at least a few minutes longer than any other Canucks games this year
comment in response to post
So another game of not being able to breakout of their own zone?

Into the gutter, with Toch's system.

Thank god.

How is that not a penalty?

Garland was interfered with at the end of the 3rd. You exist in this weird narrative space which only exists in hockey that you cannot dare to go after the head of officiating. Stephen Walkom needs to be fired. He does not know how to run that department at all
comment in response to post
I wish hockey tech was better so they could change the ice like they do in the NBA

BTW, if you found real supporting data showing trans women do not have an advantage, I would 100% change my opinion on the situation. Many of us are more than welcomed to be proven wrong on this
comment in response to post
if the far social left would just cut this crap out, we would not be dealing with an orange crazed maniac that is trying to annex us. You're literally arguing with science because you don't like it.
comment in response to post
You can support trans people and acknowledge the peer reviewed data showing trans women have advantages. You get this tribal nonsense is what causes moderates to shift to Trump, right? I just don't get it. What is your goal? To ignore all science that does not fit your narratives?
