I'm sorry but most of people's complaints about "abundance" just seem to be an allergy to branded messaging to broad audiences, a thing that actually is necessary for spreading ideas widely. As far as I can tell if you want more houses, transit, & industrial production, you should be for it

Donald Trump on Pierre Poilievre: "Our views would be more aligned certainly."

My perspective from NYC, which saw a massive pro-Trump swing last year, is that building housing and reforming urban governance might not help counteract education polarization but it's more likely to help than anything else being suggested.

If urban planning as a profession can’t survive ministerial approvals, objective design standards, and international best practices for zoning then you all deserve to be unemployed ngl.

Someone pointed out that influencers use serotonin/dopamine/cortisol/oxytocin like they’re the four humors and now I can’t stop seeing it

Today, Halifax Regional Council voted to fund a 24/7 Community Crisis Diversion Pilot Service that will divert crisis calls away from police, priorizing the needs & safety of people in crisis. This is a big step for our community that has taken several years of advocacy at multiple levels. Yay!

you seriously do not hate the media enough

How can you speak for Canada when you sound like Donald Trump?

yeah if your priors about how the public will react overall to left wing Econ policy (this does not mean *your beliefs* about it) haven’t shifted since like 2020 then I literally don’t know what to tell you. shit sucks but you can live in reality or not.

Cautiously optimistic that we’re actually taking this seriously and creating new & meaningful partnerships.

I don't say this flippantly, but Canada should really consider testing a nuclear weapon.

Even if he hadn’t bungled the CR, Schumer’s clear failure to recognize how bad things already are would be disqualifying. Time to chuck Chuck.

Beshear: When I vetoed the nastiest anti-LGBTQ+ bill during my election year, I explained why I did it. My faith teaches me that all children are children of God. I wanted those children, who were being hated on, to know their governor cares for them… my faith tells me that’s my job

I am encouraging Schumer to keep digging his own grave with this media tour lol

The answer is 1985, a full decade before even the first dot-com bubble.

Holy fuck lol

I have to imagine Pierre Poilievre is sobbing into his cereal every morning at this point tbh

The abundance debate has quickly reached a level of abstraction that borders on incoherence. “Is deregulation good or bad” is a nonsense question absent any specifics. “Whose fault is all of this” is a useless question in the absence of historical analysis or an examination of coalition politics.

Yeah, this shit drives me insane, this: the idea that you need to take a position on the abstract platonic concept of regulations/markets. Ones that produce good outcomes are good, ones that produce bad outcomes are bad! It’s public policy, not a theoretical thought experiment: what it does matters.
