High Court hearing today on Thames Water plan to borrow another £3bn. Already has £17bn debt, mostly to fund dividends, wants 53% price hike. Nearly a third of customer bill covers interest payments. More debt= higher bills. Let it go bankrupt. Nationalise at nominal price.

The year is 1999. You've just finished the installation and hit that .exe. You never knew it at the time, but this was destined to be, one of the greatest pc gaming experiences in your life.

Been using the Deno kernel for Jupyter the last couple of days and honestly its great. Quick way to experiment with JS based ML/AI tooling like you'd get with Python. I've got high hopes for ML in JS over this year

How ironic? BTW, where did OpenAI get its data from? Did they pay for it? Tech bros are mad because they lost imaginary trillion dollars 😂

OpenAI scraped the internet and copyrighted material, and now it’s suddenly concerned about plagiarism ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You can always tell when a company is acquired by private equity because the user experience gradually deteriorates as they seek new ways to extract more money from you

God AI generated trash is filling the internet, impossible to find real information on a bunch of common topics

The entire tech industry right now

Gergely clearly doesn’t understand the user story that drove this decision. Let me help! As a: Google product manager I want to: make AI mandatory everywhere within Google products Because: I am a complete piece of shit

So what keyboards are people using as the daily driver? Fancy something new but then again I've been saying that for all of 24

I've finished wrapping everything in bacon for the season. I feel as stuffed as the turkey.

Using chatGPT on iOS to explore a problem sucks, when can I get @raycast.com iOS beta so I can use my desktop workflow on iOS

Sometimes I write a React class component to feel something again.

This person gets it, Postgres for everything github.com/Olshansk/pos...

When the CEO tells you it has to be delivered in half the time of the engineering estimate

Time for my weekly checkin on Zed preview to see if they've shipped a debugger and commit GUI yet so I can use it day to day rather than VSCode.

V0.dev and bolt.new are both cool but where are the generative AI tools for opinionated battery included frameworks like Laravel or Rails? Surely given the strong patterns and opinions of those frameworks LLMs will do a great job creating and iterating code for them

hey London friends (or fascinating strangers), i'll be in town the next few days! will be at the Local Thirst meetup on Thurs at @tldraw.com lu.ma/localthirst-...

LLM powered UI generation tools are amazing for people creating demos of LLM powered UI generation tools
