I am too but if I was Taiwanese or Ukrainian I'd be out buying nukes. And I bet Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Poland all are eying them off.

I think the US withdrawal from Globocop could quite possibly end up with nuclear proliferation as countries realise that's their best bet. Duttons nuclear power plants aren't for electricity.

You gotta wonder why. Is one player worth the potential headache if it, and likely it will, go wrong.

The first part of the article still comes across as data fed to the LA times to do a hatchet job on the messenger. I will admit I gave up after a bit it was pretty obviously propaganda.

I'm just sceptical of the assertion that the underfunding was not true. And much of the LA times assertions while tech correct are not operationally correct. Like order all the firefighters to do two shifts, what? Every time there might be a fire? So every day basically. That article is propaganda.

I'm pretty sure they are illegal in Australia too for similar reasons.

You also have a very warped electoral system so any social democratic party would have to get over the incumbent money politics grid lock. Maybe if enough Democrat voters defected over many years but I doubt it will happen.

Ok. Unfortunately I only see political solutions, Free or cheap healthcare, education and social housing while raising the minimum wage all things which are political in nature and very unlikely to be done in the US as you don't have a social democratic party to vote for.

In a way it reminded me of a period piece where you knew the roles and the characters like a well worn glove but that was part of what made it such an enjoyable story.

Is this in US states?

It's what the dumpster did in Afghanistan. There is no realistic possibility the US will be involved in Ukraine in a year is my guess. The only way to save Ukraine is for the Europeans to step up.

There's about 5 tigers out there with 50+ games and 7 with 0.

That's what Trump did in Afghanistan so it's pretty obvious he isn't going to consider euro opinion at all.

Fukuyama has pointed out in the past that the USA has a vetocracy and it is nigh on impossible for Congress or the president to effectively govern. Every bill is appealed in the courts. Every presidential order. Trump may not be able to do anything but no one can

It is simply a diversion of funds. Funneling into private companies owned by the Grand Ol Pervs and their donors. Everyone should read “Confessions of an Economic Hitman,” if you want to know why they are doing this.
