I watched his remarks at the celebration of women's History Month. While he would clearly not be able to pass *any* US history test, he would surely fail this portion. There was zero history of any kind, except a redacted boast of himself and a staff biography of his female political pals. F.

hey, Sen. Ernst and Sen. Tillis- proud of your votes for Hegseth? This is on your too as much as Hegseth. You knew he was not remotely qualified

"All this misdirection [at CDC] is a waste of federal dollars that will do nothing to control the outbreak. It also could cost lives." www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202... (from the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s office of communications who just resigned)

This is just stunning. HHS has abruptly canceled more than $12 billion in federal grants to states that were being used for tracking infectious diseases, mental health services, addiction treatment and other urgent health issues.

Der Spiegel found mobile phone numbers, email addresses and even some passwords belonging to Mike Waltz, Tulsi Gabbard and Pete Hegseth on the internet. Most of these numbers and email addresses are apparently still in use. 😳

If they're this careless with their own personally identifiable information, imagine how careless they are being with yours.

Another day, another failure of the 119th Congress to work on reforming the one of the world's most expensive and least effective health care systems.

The US spends almost twice as much per capita on health care as any other nation. Yet 85 million Americans are uninsured or under-insured and 68,000 die each year because they can’t afford a doctor. Health care must be a human right, not a privilege. We need Medicare for All.

As is written, "Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause."

In a democracy we should rank congresses like we rank presidents (though these are parlor games, I concede). Among these, certainly the 33d Congress would be at or near the bottom. (Consider the Nebraska Act, for ex.) They are getting a run for their money with the 119th.

It is an open question whether Heggie or Gabbie is less qualified or more dishonest than the other. God bless 'murica.

2016 Hegseth would be calling for the impeachment and imprisonment of 2025 Hegseth.

But her e-mails.

Institutionalized cruelty. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/20/u...

More proof that “Make America Healthy Again” agenda — which blamed poor health outcomes on things like enviro toxins, rather than healthcare access — was a lie EPA research office that safeguards public health eliminating 50-75% of its 1,500 or so chemists, toxicologists, biologists, & other experts

Peter T. thinks that the solution to high home and rent costs is to end restrictive zoning. Given zoning's origins in class and race exclusion that seems right. So let's allow multifamily construction next to his Miami mansion. finance.yahoo.com/news/billion...

One pretty good way to know shutting down the department of education is about money (privatization) and not education is that Trump is the one doing it

✊ Le racisme n’a pas sa place à Montréal. En cette Journée pour l’élimination de la discrimination raciale, réaffirmons notre engagement pour une ville plus juste et inclusive. Sensibiliser, dénoncer, agir : la lutte continue.

There seem to be two goals with the plan to shutter DOE. (1) Turn the student loan portfolio back to for-profit banks, and (2) roll back civil rights enforcement & history teaching. "Improving Education Outcomes by Empowering Parents, States, and Communities Executive Orders March 20, 2025"

Trump has said that special needs kids should just die. He is scum. If you voted for this then you need to atone mightily.

The folks who voted for this (many of them the sons and daughters of segregationists) need to repent, and fast. www.npr.org/sections/sho...

Cutting Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security will result in people dying. Cutting medical research and funding will result in people dying. Cutting foreign aid, FEMA and NOAA will result in people dying. A few cars on fire is considered violence, but somehow the rest isn’t.

Everyone is welcome here.

Every time I get an obscenely high doctor's bill I lose my faith and ethics and wish Newt Gingrich and Sen. Scott an excruciatingly painful and puss-covered final few years of suffering followed by an eternity in the fires.

BERNIE: “We have a health care crisis in this country. Americans are dying because they can't afford to see a doctor. We agreed on BIPARTISAN legislation to improve health care in America. And one Republican kills the bill. The American people are watching.”

For the democrats saying “we can’t let the govt shut down” you’ve already lost. It’s not on you. Republicans control everything, didn’t come to you for anything except your vote. Where else can you force changes? You can’t… you’re a willing participant in Republican majority

Make this man House Minority Leader. Or make him a senator so he can be Senate Minority Leader. Or both.

From DeSantis to RFK, this falls at the feet of every person who fueled disease and vaccine conspiracy theories for the last five years. Measles. Was. ERADICATED.

Coming up on the five-year anniversary of the DOGE Master’s call. 🤡

A year or so before the French Revolution began the King called together an "Assembly of Notables" to fix France's severe debt issues. The fix proposed was rationalization of the tax system to make sure that the nobility chipped in a full share and that taxes were similar for all. They refused.

F*"$k the exploding rocket boy and his global grift.

They’re really trying to force this lie and news anchors have a responsibility to refute it with the facts every single time. And you know, maybe they could stop giving habitual liars air time? I’m just spitballing here, but that seems like the bare minimum for a “news network”

Republicans in Congress stand for letting Elon cut any spending he wants in defiance of the Constitution, and he wants to eliminate Social Security and Medicare. That means Republicans in Congress support eliminating Social Security and Medicare.

"I am insulted you're testing my knowledge of economics" says woman claiming tariffs are not taxes.

Donold is now classifying protests at Tesla dealerships as ‘domestic terrorism.’ Protest at a Tesla dealership and you get arrested as a terrorist. But attack the Capitol and you get a pardon.

Where are the “tariffs caused the Civil War” neoconfederates when you finally need them?

The irony of the Tea Party folks, whose very name invokes protest boycotts and property destruction of a global corporation, the East India Co. that was a threat to American liberties, attacking the Tesslaa boycott as "illegal" radicalism is almost more than I can stomach.

The exploding rocket boy's gang of three stooges level doofus cyber-punks have banned references to "gay" WW2 planes. In their defense it is a short leap from Klan hats to dunce caps.

Never forget that the concept of "school choice" was invented by conservatives as a trick to avoid integration. When tested in recent years in the DC program and elsewhere the results were most harmful to the poorest of poor neighborhoods where actual choice was not possible. It is a con.

Also, true story

In Western North Carolina there are at least a hundred people still left homeless from Hurricane Helene. Coincidentally, The twenty richest families also own about a hundred houses, most of which they rarely use and have been helped to afford through federal debt subsidized tax credits.

Trump and Musk are going after Social Security, Medicaid, the VA, and public education. In what universe, in what world, in what religion is it morally acceptable to cut programs for hungry children in order to reward the wealthy?
