YES! I didn't think of that; that is a great idea!

We're trying in the North East Suburbs, too. I literally flew home from FL today (visiting some family), and MN is the only place that feels safe to me right now.

My fellow Americans need to learn about the Battle of Blair Mountain and the rest of the bloody history of the labor movement. There is a long history of political violence in this country.

Skylight is a TikTok wannabe app being developed that will use the same AT protocol as Bluesky. However, it's, at best, 6 months away from being available on any platform and will probably only be available on Apple or Android at launch. More time before all phone users can use it.

Dems never learn the right lesson. They failed to learn from the loss in 2016. They are clearly failing to learn from the 2024 loss. Thinking the Dems will finally be introspective and learn the right lesson about TikTok now is wild.

It's time to flip the board.

Not a single sign of "the weave". This was written by a staffer.

That is such a great deep dig. I sense a lot of younger people scratching their heads at this.

Your statement about China "spread[ing] viruses" is incredibly racist. I choose not to engage with racists, so you'll be blocked shortly after I post this. Have the day you deserve, boomer. BTW, the US is the largest polluter, per capita, in history...by miles.

What you describe about China is literally capitalism. The owning class profits by stealing the value created by labor. Most of the working class remain in varying states of poverty leading many to die simply because of a lack of resources and poor material conditions.

Most Russian oligarchs were wealthy long before Putin came to power, but it's a symbiotic relationship. Putin serves at the leisure of the oligarchs and he further enriches them.

Also, it is absolutely asinine to think or assume that any nation doesn't (generally) have the health and safety of its people at the top of its list of priorities. At best a countries government may "de prioritize" a specific demographic like the US does with marginalized groups.

Both Russia and China are capitalist. Russia has been capitalist since the mid '90s and is a modern day oligarchy; you might want to educate yourself on that since the US is quickly turning into one. In modern markets China operates on "state capitalism" and has more billionaires than the US.

Climate change is real and caused by capitalism; capitalism is making the planet uninhabitable. The CEO was going to a shareholder's meeting to announce record profits due to an AI developed to deny coverage; yes, he was a trash human. His sole purpose was to maximize profit by denying care.

Maybe we finally found some of those so called "good cops" and they didn't want to find the backpack for the same reason the population at large is celebrating the shooter.

I appreciate that, but I'm far beyond anger. Capitalism is destroying the planet and human society, and I can't be bothered to feel bad when someone represents that and directly contributes to it FAFO. His death doesn't magically absolve him being a terrible person who exploited sick and poor folk.

This isn't an airport; you don't have to announce your departure, my man. I'm sorry my lack of empathy for a terrible human being responsible for making a profit of the suffering of sick and poor people offends you so much. Maybe the internet isn't the place for you. 🤣🤣🤣

Nope, I'm pretty sure a bleeding CEO on a NYC sidewalk with his last and most valuable "contribution" to society sitting warm and stinking in his pants is the reason. And this decision will also be reversed when the media coverage dies. My claim for "thoughts and prayers" was denied.

This isn't "interesting." it's an absolute trash take that ignores the power systems have to influence behavior in favor of thought terminating cliché. The Bible is Iron Age bullshit not relevant for today. A world without poverty is possible, but it's mutually inclusive of 1 without the wealthy.

IMHO, "the state of health care in America" is too narrow of scope. I think it tell you all you need to know about the state of capitalism in any and all "western" nations.
