As a Black person born during the Civil Rights era, this has been the case the entirety of my life. Mediocre white men who were mad the world was changing and they couldn't skate anymore. Went to school with boys who heard that from fathers at home then turned it on the few of us 1/

General Charles Q. Brown Jr., Faithfully and Honorably served the Constitution and The People of the US for 41-years in the USAF. His last posting was as the 21st Chairman of The Joint Chiefs of Staff. He was unjustly fired by the dangerously unqualified SECDEF. I proudly stand with Gen. Brown.

“Once, I swallowed my pride to offer him what he values the most—public praise on the Sunday news shows……Going along to get along does not work.” - Gov. JB Pritzker

Former Vice President Mike Pence denounced Donald Trump over his biggest, most flagrant lie of late — the infuriating claim that Ukraine started the war with Russia. Pence reappeared to slam Trump’s Putin-inspired lie. Posting the indisputable truth on X, Pence emphasized his…

I love how Jasmine Crokett's voice, fire, and fortitude are being elevated right now, but I am also so weary bc you know the ✋🏻's loooooove a sassy BW they can support and quote and digitally high-five - until they don't.

Tyranny requires your fear, your silence, and your compliance. Democracy requires your courage.

Hurricane, who was a Special Operations Canine for the Secret Service, became the most decorated dog in U.S. history. He died this week at the age of 16.

It’s really all too much. Which, of course, is purposeful, but the knowing it’s purposeful isn’t particularly protective at a nervous system level.

counterpoint: normal people who don't pay attention to politics hate this shit

we cite the Nazis for crimes against humanity, but we forget that they were ‘inspired’ by America’s Jim Crow laws. ‘White’ crimes against Indigenous and Black humanity are copied by the worst people in the world, & this is what the right wing wants.

The root that tears apart your foundation begins as a seed of distrust, hate, and blame. The seed that grew into a dictatorship in Europe didn’t arrive overnight. It started with everyday Germans mad about inflation and looking for someone to blame.

Crockett: "It's just that they're idiots. These are the same guys as it relates to our nuclear stockpile, they're like, 'Oh, wait a minute, we needed those guys? Can we get them back? Oh, we don't know how to.' I don't know how anyone can look at this administration & feel a semblance of confidence"

greed is gross.

he's not trolling. he means what he says even when it makes no sense.

National Science Foundation fired nearly 170 workers this morning in Zoom call. This included workers who had completed a 1-yr requisite probation and shouldn't have been included in termination but were suddenly told recently that the 1-yr should have been 2-yrs, revoking their permanent status.

A week ago, Musk refers to DOGE as "we"

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has returned $21 billion to people who were cheated by big banks and credit card companies. So why are Trump and Musk gutting an agency that's returning money to people who were scammed? For them, this has never been about cutting costs.

A telling data point… saw my first example of a fash-apologist tech CEO who couldn’t ignore the obvious bullshitting of the Musk crew lying about the fake “fraud” they’ve been finding (because there are still tech founders who know how basic spreadsheets work) and is starting to question DOGE.

History warns us. Sulla used military force to seize Rome. Now, Trump undermines NATO, cozies up to Russia, and may recall troops for domestic use. The warning signs are flashing—will we act before it’s too late to counter a lawless president? #Voices4Victory #DemVoice1 #USDemocracy #ProudBlue

That means no free and fair elections

how stochastic of them

I guess that ‘give me liberty or etc’ stuff was cosplay, huh🤔

This is 100% true and it doesn't get enough attention.

Termination notices going out this afternoon to more than 300 employees of the National Cancer Institute. Access likely ends today. Four weeks paid leave and that’s it. Strong power move for Team Cancer.

Dear the rest of the world: You should absolutely not see the US as reliable for anything at this point, shit, none of us on the inside think we're reliable for anything right now either, you're definitely not alone

lots of books that I haven’t read and some that I have. all required. let the 92% fill your cup

I rode the back of the bus. I buried Dr. King. You want me to participate in your little hate-a-thon against some other group? Kindly kiss my black ass.

On Tuesday, February 11, Congressman Jamie Raskin convened a telephone town hall to update constituents on escalating attacks on federal government programs and federal workers, threats to refugees, violations of data privacy and the independent professional civil service, and the consequences of...

A little ray of hope…

There’s a reason Republicans aren’t holding town halls—they’re too scared to face their own voters. Even their base is fed up with Elon Musk and growing concerned about what Trump promised vs what he’s actually doing. Not one elected Republican has the spine to stand up!
