The Ultimate Bluetooth is my go-to. I insisted on changing out the buttons, though, because I'm used to an Xbox setup.

It's funny, but humiliation is one of the most misunderstood kinks. I share a similarly critical view of what I might call stereotypical humiliation as over-promoted and problematic. I have found, though, that there's a lot more under the "humiliation" umbrella than a lot of people give credit for.

IIRC, I waited about 2-4 weeks?

If you put it on FetLife, I'll share it there too.

Thank you very much for writing this. Boosting and sharing it where I can.

A lot of the residents paid off their mortgages a long time ago. Especially in the areas that really got devastated. These weren't mansions, but 3-4 br SFHs, many of which the owners bought years ago and held on to.

But it was unique to have anything like an actual small-town feel in the middle of the Westside right on the beach. My very heart is heavy this week. 💔🌊

There really wasn't any place like it in the LA area. It always had some issues, especially if you were growing up there. (Quiet, boring, and conservative, which tended to encourage a lot of misbehavior by overprivileged children, speaking from personal experience)...

Unfortunately, the town as a whole is gutted. The images coming out represent thousands of homes and what had been a charming, quiet neighborhood commercial corridor, now mostly leveled. It will take years to rebuild, and will be like living next to a bomb crater in the meantime...

It won't be low billions. FAIR has about $6 billion of exposure in Pacific Palisades alone.

Does CDI have the authority to allow upward variances in premiums to cover assessments? I see no way of the homeowners' insurance market surviving "then what happens" without either eye-popping increases in premiums, some sort of long-term upwward variance, or else some kind of a bailout.

Aside from not continuing to build in firebelts, building denser, and accepting that not everybody is going to get a quarter-acre and it's not the 60s, we're going to have to build to resist fires and manage the terrain to mitigate risk. Treat neglecting brush clearance as a public nuisance.

That raises the question: is it the wanking that drives them, or the crying?

BBC, BNWO, and QOS content producers are going to have to find new lines.

Reminds me of how JFK described DC: a city of Southern efficiency and Northern charm.

I can see regional HSR corridors making sense. We have something in that direction in the PNW with the Cascades that could be expanded significantly. Ditto Acela in the northeast.
comment in response to post
Nobody is going to spend days on an HSR vs. hours on a flight to go coast-to-coast.

Even less of a rationale then. Especially considering the extreme distances in the US.
comment in response to post
I mean, I guess those are further reasons in addition to there also being no economic rationale for it in an era of remote work.

I'm consistently stuck having to spend a lot of flights twisted at an oblique angle.

NYC doesn't exist unless CEOs and adjacents come there, make money there, spend money there. Money that is taxed. All politics are local, and nothing is more local than the tax base. Not a justification, just the cynical reality. Hunt the whales without a permit, you're the one who gets harpooned.

Also, these aren't three different murder counts in the sense that he could be convicted three times for the same crime. More like three alternative theories of the same crime.

The former Marine was charged. The jury hung on one charge (which the DA then dismissed), and acquitted on the other.

Heh. Ironic, given that Steam is basically carrying Linux gaming on its shoulders with Proton. Also, if it's actually embedded Chrome running in Steam, and not just Chromium, 🫤

I've heard it put well before that leadership, in any direction, whether positive or negative, is always by example, whether one intends it to be or not.

It can also require some particular care and discretion when going out socially, too, to avoid acting like a possessive, glowering "harem guard," while still being available to intervene if necessary, when your dominant partner is approached.

Yeeeahhh... this is definitely a squicky thing I've encountered more than once from the "paired with" side. (I'm even poly and usually in relationships with poly people, and it's still squicky, maybe even more so)...
