I thought I was done with over engineering this Jackal but a YouTube commenter had a cool suggestion: secret Pong mode. A good excuse to test what Gemini code assist can do! Hold orange button while powering up to start, pots control the paddles. And vu meter tracks the ball because why not 😛

Tested Gemini code assist this afternoon: - setup VS code extension: 2mn - load a project, add a feature with Code Assist: 5mn - find out the project no long builds, clean up build artifacts, mingle with flags and deps, look for help with cursor, copilot, google search, give up, hack a kludge: 1.5h

every UK video game in the 80s and 90s was made by a guy named like "lord wensleydale" or two guys named "the chippy twins" and was about an egg with no special abilities going on an adventure and dying immediately. it was ported to the super nintendo where everyone hated it

New dithering method dropped I call it Surface-Stable Fractal Dithering and I've released it as open source along with this explainer video of how it works. Explainer video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPqG... Source repository: github.com/runevision/D... #gamedev #vfx

When @hackaday-feed.bsky.social covered this in 2021, it sparked a debate of preservation vs modernization in comments. It is a very interesting topic (as long as opinions are shared with kindness and respect). I've done both myself. Like emulation vs fpga vs real hw, it depends what one values most

@machonachomedia.bsky.social some news on this old project ;) bsky.app/profile/tomg...

@carolmertz.itch.io remember when I had to fly to the US and go to Target for the first time in my life to get my exclusive pancakes?

I've backfilled this account with my old tweets, so the message below no longer appears as my first one here. Kudos @blueark.app for the very smooth service and very polished user experience end to end!
