every UK video game in the 80s and 90s was made by a guy named like "lord wensleydale" or two guys named "the chippy twins" and was about an egg with no special abilities going on an adventure and dying immediately. it was ported to the super nintendo where everyone hated it
Comments

Seems to be okay at least now. But yeah, bit sad.
Egg ? My most fave 80s game 😳
...I wonder if I should talk to anyone about how long I can hold grudges
Bullfrog made some cool games around about then
Also the Bitmap Brothers
And Psygnosis
And Virgin (interactive)
And U.S. Gold
Awesome game
Also Bullfrog
(1999 so technically the 90s)
By all means continue your proud tradition of national self-loathing

And Sensible Software
And Codemasters
And Creative Assembly

The music on the pre title screen was invariably filthy as fuck, with a triumphant animation from 'Triad Angels' or whoever. Occasionally it was a demon fucking a cherub to the driving sounds of 16 bit House music.
It was Paradox and the BG music was ambient techno. 😆
Think I remember it from a dodgy copy of Super Off-road but could be wrong.

I’ve had the music for World Championship Boxing Manager in my head since the early 90s
and I first learned the word ‘twat’ after a game crashed and it appeared over & over until it filled the screen
Y-you mean An Untitled Story..?
Oh, and the absolutely legal trade in C90s of games at school!
Many modern indie games really understand game mechanics now though, so it’s not like the platform couldn’t do it. 👀💎🍭⭐️🐰🕹️
Usually into death because he has 0 i-frames
Kids these days don’t know how good they’ve got it!
(to be fair I'm counting Jak and Dexter here which probably people have heard of)
We've come a looooooooong way since then.
Entire planet seems to be itching for UK's rockstar to deliver GTA VI

If it wasn't for that awful alien in the ocean/beach game it'd be the worst game on that cartridge. Just none stop ticking me the hell off.
He also did a book/game called Starship Titanic.

This game lives rent free in my head.
That bicycle.
And you've idea where that egg was placed..... or the batteries it consumed.
They had Lucasarts who were brilliant of course.
My dad taught me Basic on our ZX 48k.
For the US, IBM and Apple were huge, blocking foreign entrants, but their products not optimised for gaming. So not as big a boom.
That is, if i could get them to load.
80's gaming as it actually was: "I've bought this game but I'm well aware it may have shipped with bugs that literally make it unplayable and which cannot be patched"
Sometimes the Egg did sports.
