A single, Christian woman, I pray for peace, compassion, understanding, freedom, and justice for all people. I resist the oppression of small minds and cruelty so common in our politics. “Seriously?!” is my comment the past 8 years. 🤷‍♀️🤯🤬 🇺🇸🎶🍷🏌️‍♀️🐾✝️🗳️🤠🏟️

“Not wavering” under the pressure of the White House actually is an achievement and one that’s worth praising. It’d be nice if other media outlets cared about journalism enough to stand alongside them.

Dark Pence is back.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is not a dictator. He is a champion of democracy, freedom and truth.

President Zelenskyy has been one of the greatest leaders of our time, guiding Ukraine through the darkest period of its recent history, rising up to Russia’s unwarranted aggression, being an inspiration to the Ukrainian people and ensuring that Ukraine’s voice is heard on the world stage.

What Would Jesus Do During Trump's Second Administration? He'd Stand With Rev. Budde. MAGA's condemnation of Rev. Budde's call for mercy & kindness to immigrants reveals Republicans have betrayed Jesus and now officially worship Donald Trump as their Orange Calf. open.substack.com/pub/thelefth...

The bullies always start by attacking those they perceive as weak. They do it to intimidate those they perceive to be strong. What they reveal, in this, is only their malice. Connect with others. Care for others. Protect others. Organize. And when you are in a strong position, counterpunch.

love your neighbor/s. protect the vulnerable. today. & every tomorrow.

First they came for the immigrants, and I spoke out, because I’ve read the damn poem before and I know how it ends.

the church pete hegseth is a part of, the CREC, is led by a lunatic who gives talks about "the lost value of sexism" and wants to drive women out of public life. this fully accords with hegseth's public comments. and he's been selected to run the largest corporation on earth

Are Democratic leaders making cities more dangerous than Republicans? Trump + others have repeatedly made claims like this. New paper in Science Advances w/ @chriswarshaw.bsky.social, Dan Jones & Matt Harvey shows that, in short, the answer is no.

In Georgia, a mom facing eviction reached out to DFCS for help. They offered her nothing. Soon the agency took her kids away because of "inadequate housing." The state then paid *$6,200 a month* to house her kids in foster care. One of the most important and infuriating stories I read this year:

When the song of the angels is stilled...the work of Christmas begins: To find the lost, To heal the broken, To feed the hungry, To release the prisoner, To rebuild the nations, To bring peace among others, To make music in the heart. - Howard Thurman

Rant mode ON: —Situations where having to use QR code saves you time/effort/steps (for menus, event links, etc): 2% —Situations where this "convenience" is actually a PITA: 98%. Rant mode OFF.

This is... actually a fairly reasonable takeaway from this year.

Dear Democrats, you could lead the world in post pandemic recovery. Fox News will tell everyone the economy is in crisis. You could add millions of jobs. Elon will tell everyone the migrants are stealing them. You have a massive information flow problem. Deploy counter measures.

A Trump supporter can be a professed Christian—but they don't have any idea who Jesus is or anything he taught or they wouldn't be a Trump supporter. If you are a Trump supporting-Christian go read the Sermon on the Mount and then pray. This isn't between you and me, this is between you and Jesus.

Here we are. The shameless, indifferent flaunting of oligarchic rule, where you can destroy our country and planet if you’ve got a billion dollars. This is what Trump voters voted for.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but don’t doubt many who despise Trump will still find themselves normalizing his cruelty, hatefulness and madness. Because we humans naturally tend to adapt to our reality. It will require a daily effort to remember, oppose and stand up for decency & humanity.

Amid the backdrop that more than a dozen members of Trump's Cabinet are billionaires, a reminder that this is what happened to income inequality in this country once the tax rate for top earners was slashed after 1980. Trickle down does not work and top earners' priority is themselves.

On Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, we honor the more than 2,400 servicemembers and civilians who were killed during the attack in 1941. The tragedy spurred so many courageous Americans into action in defense of our dearest freedoms – and we’re forever grateful for their bravery and sacrifice.

Record numbers of Americans report that the mainstream media is out of touch and irrelevant. That’s why we’re doubling down on our coverage of the Hunter Biden pardon and who shot a millionaire CEO.

Pearl Harbor. A study in unpreparedness. Not just budgets and technology. Not just training and tactical leadership. A basic inability to believe there are enemies out there scheming to kill us. All of us. Study history. Believe. “Only the dead have seen the end of war.”

If freedom is a constant struggle, then joy is a daily choice. - Jemar Tisby

Donald Trump's cringe azz "strongman" handshake with French President Emmanuel Macron shows he's a tiny man.

A Missouri lawmaker introduced a bill that would establish a bounty hunter program for undocumented immigrants. Participants in the migrant bounty hunt would get $1,000 to turn in undocumented neighbors. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article...

52 years ago Today, the crew of Apollo 17 took the iconic "Blue Marble" photo. It was the last time human eyes saw this amazing view from a spacecraft.

The credulous language with which the legacy media is describing an effort by billionaires to loot the federal government. Privatizing prisons makes the more cruel. Privatizing the post office betrays a promise of access made at nation's founding. www.nytimes.com/2024/12/06/u...

“When we look away from or cheer on the death of another human—even if our excuse is that we think that their suffering is retribution for acting inhumanely—we betray our own humanity.“

Jesus welcomed sinners, tax collectors and Samaritans, so yeah, pretty sure he’s okay with diversity, equity and inclusion.
