I think there's going to be more of a split betwen the radical christian nationalists and the less outright insane but still very right wing lot in the not distant future, Farage will try and find a way to slink into that second camp. Tories feel more likely to end up in the former camp, imo

Tbf, I feel like half the episodes I've seen where that comes up, it's proven wrong or otherwise ignored

Surprised that this level of honesty is coming out of a telegraph reporter

They did something like it, for sure, and in both Pillars games I believe, in one form or another.
You have to explicitly call it up, and I appreciate the option so that you don't have to force unnatural dialogue or roll checks for what would be common lore knowledge

That's mental. That game is going to be a license to print money for years if they play it right. Gonna be harder if you lay off the people that made it though

Given Italy existed as a Kingdom under the Holy Roman Empire, I'm pretty sure the Romans would have something else to say about the ethnic composition of "England" 1000 years before Italy

Which jobs?
How will you know what are the right questions to ask if you have zero education?

Are you just re-engineering the public/private schooling divide but even shittier?

We've had this ability for years, through libraries, through things like wikipedia.
And realistically if you're using education as an LLM case it is yet again introducing a two tier system where those with money get access to the better, more responsive models, and those without don't.

The game constantly reinforces it too. If you're the certain person to just go off and explore, there are so many routes to climb, and so many things to find by doing so

I love how he immediately follows up by saying he's not sure critical thinking is narrow enough to be a niche.

The funniest shit here is using a screenshot of an AI search result as if it proves some kind of point

For sure, if you've got an application that'll do that for you, I just went for the quickest example of something you could use to show that data that I could find 😆

This is a thing. You can use a tool like this to see EXIF metadata on photos and strip them jimpl.com
It's the EXIF that stores things like where an image was taken, what device it was on, etc. Depends on the device taking it and its capabilities (a DSLR without network won't share location)

The Internet is literally descended from a US DoD project, for that matter. The Web was developed by a European intergovernmental research institute

I mean, if BioWare creating a new IP to pivot to live service when it actually was the hot new thing and bombing wasn't an indication, I'm not sure why they expect both of their famously singleplayer focused IPs to fair better

Long distances generally are in miles in the UK, not just for driving. Metres for less than a mile, or fractions of a mile, depending, which isn't really helpful as a unit of measurement 🙃

This is the thing. I'm broadly fine with using LLMs to do things _I can do and would be paid to do_ but cannot be arsed to do, I'm less fine with getting it to do, say, some artistry I could pay a reasonable amount for unless it's literally throwaway.
