i should probably add the usual disclaimer: fourth of july is my favorite holiday, but NO it has never really been much about america for me. it is about gathering with family and friends and enjoying a nice summer day with the community in my dear old hometown

one of my many hometown fourth Traditions is that i must have a hard copy of the pamphlet in my possession. do i need it? no. the event times/locations have changed maybe two times in the last 30 years. everything just Happens, absolutely, like an unskippable cutscene. yet i must have the pamphlet
