open.substack.com/pub/thebulwa... @mcuban.bsky.social , regarding that donor needed to build out an information ecosystem for the dems … how ‘bout it?

I wake up every day angry about the small margin of victory for that man and how close we came to having a president with competence, integrity, and compassion. But here we are, in complete chaos and hurtling toward authoritarianism instead.

Regardless of your view of Biden's decision to pardon his son, this reaction from a prominent, well respected reporter illustrates why the legacy media is in such steep decline. Had Biden wanted to explain, there were an endless set of more relevant options available to him than a news conference.

Hey, Democrats criticizing Biden for pardoning Hunter - If you're President and Trump targets your kid to punish you for running against him, leaving your kid vulnerable to persecution just to make a point is stupid and reckless. Until YOU are in that position, spare the judgment.

And where reputable journalists and thinkers go, so do elected officials. I’ve been getting asked lately about a more serious + systemic migration to Bluesky among electeds. Idk the answer but it highlights how much of a breaking point misinfo & throttling has become for Twitter(& other platforms)

good read that fleshes out many things I've been thinking and saying. hope folks read this essay from someone who was doing work on the ground before reacting.

It feels wonderful to have been welcomed by so many of you here on BlueSky... especially the sticking it to Leon part. 😛

It's up to Democratic officials whether they want to stop exclusively rewarding legacy media with their time and start validating the people who are actually advocating for their agenda. But until they make that decision, the asymmetry that cost Democrats this election will persist.

I keep telling you, they're going to lie about how many people they murder like they did during COVID.

Good morning! ☀️🎄 Who else is getting into the holiday spirit? Remember, friends, there’s only one party that obeys in advance. Don’t stick your tongue to the pole. I beg.

This should go without saying, but it's okay if someone you don't agree with goes on a certain show or podcast. It's okay to be exposed to dissenting opinions. It's okay to feel uncomfortable. The biggest danger for the Democratic Party moving forward is the imposition of ideological purity tests.

Forgive me if this is petty but the next account I’d like to surpass here on Bluesky is CNN. They helped normalize Trump at every turn and did nothing to help tell the truth about Kamala. Time to show them what we think. Can you RT this and follow us if you haven’t. 💙🙏

Good news! With all the votes finally counted, Democrat Rebecca Kassay has won her race on Long Island, flipping a seat from red to blue in the New York state assembly. 💙

Uh, no. Nuclear war is a lot worse than measles. RFK is a public health menace; Hegseth and Gabbard are existential threats.

29 November 1904 | A Dutch Jew, Salomon Hartog, was born in Amsterdam. He was deported to Auschwitz He perished in the camp on 24 August 1942.

Complicity.

The New York Times has obtained a scathing email that Pete Hegseth’s mother sent to her son in 2018. In the email, Penelope Hegseth describes her son as a serial philanderer with a long history of abusing women — and tells him to “get some help.” Remember: Pete Hegseth was credibly accused…

She also wrote: “I have no respect for any man that belittles, lies, cheats, sleeps around and uses women for his own power and ego. You are that man (and have been for years) and as your mother, it pains me and embarrasses me to say that, but it is the sad, sad truth.”

This is your daily reminder that this really did happen.

Eric Metaxas responds to criticism from Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s family by calling them “Jew-hating” and “pro-Hamas lunatics.”

@scottgottliebmd.bsky.social is 100% correct. RFK Jr. is dangerous. He will cost lives if he’s appointed. My colleagues who have tried to play footsie with this nomination are dead wrong. Listen to Scott.

@scottgottliebmd.bsky.social was Trump's FDA Commissioner; Jerome Adams, his Surgeon General. Both have come out against the RFK Jr. HHS nomination, while we've seen former Biden staffers and other Dems playing footsie with this rogues' gallery of new appointments. Drs. Gottlieb & Adams are right.

We could have had four more years, folks.

Trump won the Electoral College, but winning with less than 50% of the vote is not a landslide, and it certainly doesn’t give him a mandate, especially when he had one of the smallest wins in history. We can’t let anyone forget that.

Bluesky, looking for a home for an adorable bonded brother and sister born in the same litter in Northern VA. Kitties are 16 MO and need a loving home. These are 2 super affectionate and adorable furballs. Help me amplify this message to find these little ones a home this holiday season.

Repost if BlueSky is now your primary social media site.

Read this thread, from a heroic American under attack from an unhinged billionaire

If you're new to me or you never followed me on Twitter, I need you to know that the corporate elite have spent decades dismantling New Deal protections and smashing labor unions, turning what should've been a shared prosperity-for-all into a feeding frenzy for the rich, and we NEED to do something.

I knew on July 22nd. I knew on August 17th. I knew on September 10th. I knew on November 5th, and I knew the day after. And I know now: Kamala Harris was the right choice. She should be President right now. And I'll be spending 100% of the next several years calling out all of trump's bullshit.

When the next pandemic hits—I worry that day isn't far off—we're screwed. America did far and away the worst job of any country in the developed world of protecting its people from illness and death, and everyone in the incoming Trump administration who deals with health thinks we did.... too much.

Quite a few Americans like the idea of strongman rule. Essential to it is the idea that a strongman will be your strongman. He won't. snyder.substack.com/p/the-strong...

In 2018 Dems elected the largest class to Congress since Watergate, ~60 seats. A lot of it was, yes, Trump backlash. But the winners also had another thing in common, despite a wide range of differences: most rejected corporate PAC money. It’s a hugely compelling factor to voters & underdiscussed

1/ 🧵 This is why Black folks are fresh out of fu@ks! We managed to vote for Harris, and we would have voted for Biden. We understood what was at stake. We knew we had to vote for our survival, not the perfect. As always, we took it seriously and spread the word within our families and communities.

Thanks to @adamjkucharski.bsky.social for pointing out what NIH Director nominee Jay Bhattacharya was up to in 2020/2021. Those who are rewriting history (I'm looking at you @ashishkjha.bsky.social) and suggesting this nomination is "pretty reasonable," should be ashamed of themselves. 1/

Donald Trump wants you to believe that he is all powerful and that if you fight back you will lose. He wants you to believe that if you fight back you face danger. It is time for us to build not a temporary resistance but a long term opposition.
