Today is the 35th anniversary of the Capitol Crawl, in which disabled activists discarded their mobility aids at the foot of the Capitol steps to climb them in support of passage of the Americans with Disabilities Ac. Jennifer Keelan-Chaffins, 8, told reporters "I'll take all night if I have to!"

What an embarrassment.

Taoiseach invites JD Vance back to Ireland as 'sock diplomacy' discussed over breakfast’. The bros discussing socks while people die and the world burns because of Vance/Trump policies! Micheàl is going to tug the forelock to Trump, isn’t he? 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬https://jrnl.ie/6646925

1. Major news in transgender care. Germany, Switzerland, and Austria have just released their trans youth care guidelines. They strongly recommend trans youth care and slam the Cass Review in England. Europe is not "pulling back" on trans care. Subscribe to support our journalism.

rally to demand the release of Mahmoud Khalil now, near the federal building (ICE works in there), nyc

Hahaha every year on International Women's Day this photo gets widely circulated but a fake narrative but this one takes the biscuit. 53 reshares and close to 1500 likes 😂

Protestors lined up outside of a Tesla dealership on Route 35 in Eatontown NJ, a town sitting inside cherry red district 4, represented by congress’s longest serving Republican, Chris Smith

This is the fucking cowardice that will get us all killed: “A spokesperson for Columbia said law enforcement agents must produce a warrant before entering university property. The spokesperson declined to say if the school had received a warrant for Khalil’s arrest.”

International Women's Day must be reclaimed and reimagined to dismantle capitalist patriarchy. This collection highlights how deeply revolutionary feminism can be. With titles from bell hooks, Françoise Vergès, Sophie K Rosa & more! www.plutobooks.com/feminism-is-...

On International Women’s Day, solidarity with the women of Palestine, Sudan, Congo and all others living under bombs, bullets and forced displacement. No feminism without peace, justice and freedom from imperialism and colonialism ✌️✊🇵🇸 www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....

“The speeches will be made. The hashtags will trend. The panel discussions will be held. And the women of Gaza will remain buried under rubble, their suffering too politically inconvenient to mention.” My latest in @AlJazeera #IWD #InternationalWomensDay www.aljazeera.com/opinions/202...

"I refuse to let this be just another outrageous Trump statement that people laugh off... that the world forgets. I refuse to accept that the president of the United States can issue death threats to my people with impunity." — #AJOpinion by Ahmed Najar ⤵️

Remember this the next time someone talks about the 'invisible border' on the island. These racist and gendered theatrics are catering to the far-right and deeply impact freedom of movement, as we found in our Women of the Borderlands research. Our report can be found here www.ucc.ie/en/women-of-...

These disgraceful scenes represented a massive operation with huge delays for people moving around the island. This is the latest escalation from the Irish Gov and their war on a ‘shared island’. For what? For two people out of thousands be denied entry? [1/4] www.breakingnews.ie/ireland/two-...

“Those nasty Canadians are ripping us off and are controlled by Mexican cartels. They’re poisoning us with fentanyl and need to become the 51st state or they will pay a high price” is a belief that literally ZERO Americans had six weeks ago. It’s entirely invented from scratch.

We are used to hearing from a handful of prominent academics who support the removal of the Triple Lock and question Irish neutrality. Over 400 signatures to a letter stating the opposite suggests there is a different perspective that should be heard. www.rte.ie/news/politic...

Watching @rte.ie "Home" of the Year, and this contestant from the show is an AirBnB in Wicklow 🤷🏼‍♂️

Happy to have signed this #irishneutrality #triplelock www.rte.ie/news/ireland...

"Discounted" 😂 €1,710 per month for a 2-bed apartment

Notice how the media presents the Govnt move to remove the triple lock as positive and 'mature', with opposition a bit crazed and partisan. The triple lock is core to Irish neutrality. 75% of Irish people support neutrality. The Govnt is pushing us towards war.

Rest in peace Pat Ingoldsby, a true Dublin character. May your crossing be easy.

Look at this absolute excrement of a headline. Exhibit A why I don't buy newspapers anymore.

Premier of Newfoundland resigns, calling Trump cracked (great newfoundland word) and a bully.

Our Chancellor is suggesting here that a job ad for Palestinian Studies is akin to antisemitism. Apparently academic study of the Palestinian condition is offensive to the City University of New York: www.cuny.edu/news/stateme...

I am currently getting multiple reports that Google, in an attempt to remove pronouns in the US government email accounts, just removed pronouns for every private workplace account in the world. If you use Google workspaces, go check on that and confirm for me. Overcompliance leads to stupidity.

The "campus free speech" and "cancel culture" panics were obvious efforts to seed the ground for a huge expansion of left-wing censorship and right-wing propaganda. That effort appears to have worked.

Free to read - research on trans pregnancy, fatness, and cultural intelligibility! Our article ‘Why Is the Chubby Guy Running?’ explores why pregnant men and non-binary people are often percieved as fat. It's now assigned to the latest issue of @the-joap.bsky.social.

One medical worker says of his experience in illegal captivity: “I am talking about clubbing, being beaten with rifle butts and being attacked by dogs. … I was beaten so badly I couldn’t use my legs or walk. No day passes without torture.”

We have begun to commission abortion services in Northern Ireland, BUT we still don’t have all the services in the regulations. For more information on abortion in Northern Ireland visit our website👇 https://buff.ly/3gx84p7

Permission to tear gas their own students. "Association of University Chief Security Officers (AUCSO) – a little-known professional body with members at more than 140 UK universities – privately lobbied vice chancellors for assurances they would support them over their handling of student protests."

Important thread on Gardaí discriminatory ID checking on public transport crossing the land 'border' on the island of Ireland. Know your rights, exercise them. End racial profiling. [1/4]

As someone who lived through the “Troubles”, nothing that the British state got up to surprises. They controlled the narrative and acted with impunity. #Ireland #speirgorm

A Kurdish woman asked to be buried “in a handful of soil” in Ireland – but her body was sent to Turkey anyway. In a note she left behind, she’d written, “Do not give my corpse to the oppressors.” More here: dublininquirer.com/2025/02/19/a...

Butler as clear & interesting as ever! Well worth reading this thoughtful interview.

"In the humanities meeting, the presentation’s slide on ‘mental health support’ prompted collective laughter (which was edited out of the official recording)".
