It helped that we gave him a ton of treats the first couple times we took him on the train. Also that there’s almost always a stranger who’ll fawn & give him a friendly ear scratch.

He wants to punish the country for not reelecting him in '20. Everything is downstream of this.

True story & that gets to the point: we've never treated a president's word as law but here we are with journos treating his asinine third term talk like it's a genuine concept right out of the gate.

It's shades of local NYC media treating his "Congestion pricing ends, I declare" like writ of God. I don't get it—dude doesn't get to just make up laws on his say-so.
Is civic education so bad that reporters fundamentally don't understand what democracy means?

I'm convinced that half the reason for the rancid crime discourse is murder in the cities beamed into millions of tv every day... on scripted cop dramas.

I'm finally chugging through Reisner's "Cadillac Desert" & it's easy to agree with his sotto voce refrain throughout the book of "why the fuck have we been spending all this money on irrigation in the West when Illinois *exists*?"

Absolutely true! Glad though that NJT bus & LR can do contactless/tap, it's a step in the right direction.
It's a damn shame that, even with it's bugginess, SEPTA Key works on Regional Rail while LIRR & MNRR won't deign to integrate OMNY.

I didn't know this before replying but NJT bus & HBLR (along with PATH & NYCT) has tap-to-pay now. So, hey that's essentially one fare media now.
A verkehrsverbünde would be ideal though for the tri-state.
