Crazy to think that had Harris won, we'd be looking at a dominating Conservative win and a decimated Liberal party. (Would still prefer that reality to our current one, but Carney winning and Pollievre losing his seat are big silver linings)

I'm Albertan. We have more than our share of Maple MAGA and a small but obnoxious separatist movement. But trust me, the vast majority of Albertans (even right leaning ones) would NEVER want to join the US.

What I keep thinking about is how much Trump’s entire premise of his presidency for many people was that he simply won’t do the stuff they don’t want him to do while doing exactly what they want him to do.

I'm from Calgary and this was such a frustrating decision - a very close vote in a plebiscite after so much misinformation. My dental hygienist often talks about the difference she's seen since.
