> they're being treated as decrees, with no pushback, because anti-scientific Idiocracy seems to have infected the entire GOP and a significant percentage of the US population. (MAGA, Christian fundamentalists, Climate Change deniers, anti vaxxers, other conspiracy loons of various sorts, etc.)

Yes but I was referring to the wider culture, not just the President. If the problem was only one person, then Trump wouldn't be getting away with the things he now is .. including EOs directly attacking science and research. EOs are supposed to be orders to Congress, not Imperial decrees. But >

Could be!

I thought the US military were indoctrinated with Fox News propaganda every single day? Are they really likely to be any more politically aware than the 77 million morons who actually voted for all this.

Got distracted trying to communicate with ketamine entities, maybe? Could be .. πŸ₯ΆπŸ‘Ώ

Seems to be, I think he just put the words in rather a strange order and also left quite a few important ones out. Easy to do, I guess .. 🧐

> were too. C) Not all governments are violent/authoritarian, that's completely absurd and nonsensical. D) Saying, "yeah but the other side were even worse" is absolutely bullshit, kindergarten logic/morality. If that's seriously the best argument you can think of, you have no argument at all.

A) I didn't say that fascism was violence; please learn some basic comprehension skills. I said that using violence to impose an authoritarian state was fascism. Capisce? B) It wasn't only fascists who were sent to Gulags or murdered (by the state) under Stalin.Β  10s of 1000s of innocent people >

Um, "requesting to understand what they got done"? Don't you just hate it when illegal immigrants refuse to learn basic English.

Using violence (even terror, by design) to impose an authoritarian, one-party state on people would seem pretty fascist, don't you think? Particularly if you send 10s of 1000s of them to Gulags for literal thought crimes. Or is fascism only a problem when it's the "other side" which is doing it?

If you knew anything about history you would know that the term "red-fascist" goes back at least to the 1920s. It was used by people similar to Fanya Kaplan, for example. Perhaps you should Google her. You might learn something.

Important to take reset breaks as well. I find that playing Luigi's Mansion helps. Extremely retro yet still curiously relevant today.

Fuck morons who wave red-fascist flags around, with apparently zero sense of irony or understanding of history ..

Judaism as written was meant to be interpreted "as written" (by the people who originally wrote the Torah). However the consequences of doing so .. the events of the 1stC.. proved catastrophic. Hence why a much more liberal approach evolved.

Because cultural conservatives (wherever they are from) would rather vote for fascists and against their own interests, than vote for a woman. Particularly one who wasn't white.

Speaking as one of America's now enemies (European and opposed to Putin, Musk, Trump, oligarchy/autocracy in general) I have no problem with Trump weakening your military. What's concerning is that he's doing so in order to ensure compliance and turn them into a tool of oppression in the US, too.

So, just to clarify, this guy actually represents the "Republican" party, in the US? Yet another word many Americans appear not to understand the actually meaning of. At all.
comment in response to post
Yes, it would seem that that's precisely the intention. There certainly doesn't seem to be any sort of sane rationale to any of it.

From an outside, non-US perspective, it does seem that a highly anti-science, anti-rationality, anti-education, pro-Idiocracy culture has been being pushed in the US for a very long time now.

Personally, as a non-US citizen, I totally approve. If Trump is really intent on attacking Canada, Mexico, Greenland and other democracies, then weakening the US military in advance seems like an excellent idea. Long may he continue to do this. πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸ‡²πŸ‡½πŸ‡¬πŸ‡±πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡©πŸ‡°πŸ‡΅πŸ‡¦

At the same time Russia is trying to do the precise same thing in Europe. We my as well just refer to them .. to Russia and the US .. collectively as "the Oligarchy". Personally I will celebrate every single time ANY of its troops (or other willing operatives) get eliminated, wherever they are.

You don't have to be an award winning journalist to read Project 2025. Pete is following the manifesto orders as written by Christan Nationalists. Theo-Bro Hegseth is there to bastardize our self defense, and dismantle it. He shuts down the Pentagon, the Marines, the VA, and here's more

Aren't the US military fed Fox News continuously? The same Fox News which weirdly provided the new Defense Secretary. If so, are they really any more likely to see through all the "America First" bullshit propaganda than the 77 million people who voted for Trump and enabled all this?

Ukraine will not collapse. Even if the entire country was occupied by Russia, this would simply trigger an ongoing, very bloody insurgency. Ditto, if the US tried to occupy Canada or turn Gaza into a beach resort, re US troops there. Two corrupt, autocratic Oligarchies, multiple insurgencies ..

Exactly my feelings too. I know it's really unfair on the millions of Americans who voted for Harris, but the more of a cataclysmic mess the next few months are in the US, the louder warning this will send to the rest of the world, not to go down the same moronic, bullshit "populist" route.
