Love this. Former Minnesota Viking Chris Kluwe takes on Maga at the local level. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/20/u...

My last post gave me this idea to create a new thread of organizations. Please post websites and or organization (pro democracy) that we can support/follow/donate to. (Don't spam this post, they will be deleted.) I'll start with my own PAC (shameless plug lol) democracydefenderspac.com

A new government tracker claims DOGE has saved billions from ending federal contracts. But an NPR analysis of the data finds the claimed savings don't add up.

Protests are taking place all over the country tonight against cuts to vital federal services. Here in Washington, people are marching to SpaceX’s offices demanding Musk be ousted from the government.

If there was ever a time for outrage, it’s now. What are you holding back for? The only thing that’s going to stop Musk is the American people. The odds are still good. It’s 330 million to one.

What does former RNC chairman Michael Steele seem more pissed off about what’s happening in Washington than my own Democratic senators? Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith I’m talking to you. Show us your anger. Show us your outrage. Show us you give a damn.

I’m tired of politicians who care more about job security than the job itself. Republicans mute and weak-kneed by the mire threat of a primary challenge. Get a spine! Your country, your constitution and you democracy are at stake.

Big, growing crowd just west of the U.S. Capitol protesting Trump, Musk and DOGE on President’s Day. “Hey Congress, grow a spine,” they shout, gathering for a rally around the reflecting pool.

Attorney General Pam Bondi disbanded an FBI task force investigating foreign influence operations, including those targeting U.S. elections. Additionally, she restricted enforcement actions against individuals who fail to disclose lobbying on behalf of foreign governments.

Musk has had $13 billion in fed Gov contracts in the last 5 years,$3.8 billion in 2024. At least 11 federal agencies, more than 32 continuing investigations, complaints or enforcement actions into Musk’s six companies, have been disrupted since Trump took office. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/11/u...

Wish I could travel back two decades in time to tell myself that the guy who was then head of the Republican National Committee is now doing more to fight back against a Republican president than most Democrats.

This:

In Ferguson, they swept phone data from the crowd, then later drove down streets and if there were 2 or more of those people in a house, they raided it.

Make your calls. Go to your town halls. Ask your state and local officials what they are doing under state and local law. Rest. Hydrate. Make soup for the hungry. Don’t let people tell you that you’re doing it wrong. Not a sprint. Not a marathon. A relay. Find your team. Thank you.

A small but enthusiastic band of about 40 protesters today outside Tesla in Golden Valley Minnesota. Lots of great cheers, honk, and thumbs up from passing traffic. It’s important to out in public so people can see that there’s resistance.

It is perfectly legal to know your rights and to educate others about them, too. EVERYONE in the United States, citizen or not, has rights. I will not allow this administration to intimidate us from helping you know about them. Here’s our shareable guide ⬇️: (pt. 1/2)

Three men wearing DOGE shirts and MAGA hats entered several offices at San Francisco City Hall around noon today, demanding digital information “related to alleged wasteful government spending and fraud.”

If you’re still feeling like it, can’t be as bad as you think it is, you won’t think that after reading this. I think this is a pretty astute assessment of the situation. open.substack.com/pub/snyder/p...

federal cuts=local impact Minneapolis Joyce Uptown Food Shelf is facing $60k deficit due to federal freeze of Local Food Purchasing Assistance Grant. I'm sure other food programs are equally affected. Money for food assistance for the poor. This is their idea of waste, fraud, abuse?

This is insane. Why aren't people more up in arms (so to speak)? Mass layoffs including those folks who oversee our nuclear weapons stockpile!? ! Welcome Putin, we're rolling out the red carpet for you. abcnews.go.com/Politics/liv...

The Playwrights' Center in Minneapolis sent this out today. These hateful policies impact every level. "The NEA has presented us with a stark choice. We’ve now been explicitly told that we cannot receive federal funding if we “operate any programs promoting ‘diversity, equity, and inclusion’.”

When tyranny becomes law, rebellion becomes duty.
