Anyone asking about someone’s genitals should be considered lacking in a few organs of their own… the heart and/or the brains come to mind.

To be fair, it’s not “just” the deregulation…
It’s also the “profit-motive as the fundamental driving force of the economy”, aka. capitalism.

I heard Tim Pool a few days ago arguing that the people deported to El Salvador actually did have due process, while the insurrectionists of Jan 6 didn’t…
These people live in opposite world.

Comparing the murder of an Israeli person and the murder of a British person, and then arguing that the first is equivalent to 6 or 7 times the second, is pretty racist against British people, is it not?
I don’t know why he thinks he should do this kind of weird math, but it’s quite creepy

“Please stop talking about our flagrant and shameful display of pure incompetence and talk instead about the made-up controversy from 12 years ago on our political rival”
This type of argument would be incredibly insulting if it wasn’t for the significant part of the population that is in a cult.

Apathy? Antipathy/Hate?
I’m wondering myself how they see it.

If you start a Trade War with a NATO ally, like the US did with Canada, the correct response is indeed to take part in it and stand with our ally.

Trollingly

“Made it into the office for once”, from the president with the most (golfing) holidays in history, is quite the projection.

So which is it? Is greed good or bad?
Or is it good when Ayn Rand promotes it, but bad when I “try to justify it”? 🤣
Anyway, not wanting to be exploited by pigs is not laziness, nor is it greed. You’re just being an idiot.
comment in response to

The mental gymnastics you do to justify the bootlicking of your lazy capitalist owners is Olympic level athleticism. I’m in awe. It’s awfully pitiful, but still a great display.
comment in response to

A capitalist apologist arguing that ‘greed’ is bad.
Thanks for the good laugh.
comment in response to

The saddest part is that you actually want to be exploited and to work hard so some faraway company stakeholder may be able to buy a second pool in their yard.
They don’t even guns to be tyrants. All they need is some brainwashed fools like you who will gladly enslave themselves for them.

Let me translate it in non-BS language for you:
“Learn a skill and maybe someday, you’ll have the honor of being someone else’s slave and let them leech from your work like they do from all the other little worker ants.”
But dream on. Keep tasting those tasty boots from you capitalist overlord
comment in response to

Sure, “based on their skills”
Dream on.

Seeing how you redefined ‘producing’ earlier as ‘owning shit and exploiting the people that actually produce stuff’, I’m actually glad to hear I don’t sound like someone who does that.

Expecting a convicted felon with a career riddled with fraud and corruption to ‘drain the swamp’, … just how dumb can they be?
comment in response to
post
But even if this wasn’t the case. Let’s say that it isn’t slavery… does this in itself make it moral?
No
There is no consensual agreement in an imbalance of power. One party makes money by buying the means to produce, while the other has to work there to make money and not starve. It’s a dumb system
comment in response to
post
“Trading your skills and time for money is not slavery”
For millennia this has actually been the exact difference between a slave and a free man.
A free man exchanges the fruits of his production for money.
A slave exchanges his freedom, his time, his skills, for his life, for not having to starve
comment in response to
post
“You don’t need money”
Waw, what socialist utopia is it that you live in? Star Trek?
Talking about the need to come back to reality.
comment in response to
post
A fake democracy is still better than no democracy at all.
The less government there is, the more power the corporations can wield to crush union, ignore workers rights, and to lower standards of quality for consumers.
More freedom for slave-owners is not good for the slaves.

It can be (frustratingly) hard to discuss some topics/arguments with some people.
I think that people on the right often approach politics from a place of disgust, of wanting to punish anyone they think is lazy, degenerate, or even criminals.
Policies based on empathy become hard to discuss then
comment in response to
post
But hopefully once they calm down and try to think about the arguments, they’ll be able to put their biases on the side. That’s how it worked for me.
(I remember the first time I heard an argument against extreme policing. At first it made me angry as well (“how could ‘more police’ ever be bad?”))
comment in response to
post
So I kind of understand why they get angry. It’s so incredibly normalized and part of their identity, their view on society, that even discussing it feels weird, like an irrational attack and an argument for the end of the world.
It’s hard to distance oneself from our habits and traditions.
comment in response to
post
It reminds me of a quote Mark Fisher cites in his book ‘Capitalist Realism’:
“It’s easier to imagine the end of the world than the end of capitalism”
comment in response to
post
Also, slavery was normalized for MILLENNIA.
You arguing that ‘hiring people’ has been normal for a few centuries means NOTHING!
comment in response to
post
Can people consent to be a slave? Should it be legal to do it?
If you need money or you will die, can I make a contract with you where you voluntarily become my property?
No. The agreement being consensual doesn’t automatically make it right, especially when there is a power imbalance, Mr. buffoon

“For the most visible trait of the righteous man is that he doesn’t want to govern others, but only govern himself. This is key. In other words, we shall always be governed by the worst among us” - Alain (philosopher)
Maybe we need a system without leaders, where people cooperate as equals.

Alexander Soros is a fascist now? Because he talks to politicians?
You really have no idea what it means, do you?
Please read Umberto Echo’s“Ur-fascism”. It’s not a long read, but it should make clear what the word means. If you notice that it describes Trump to a T, don’t worry about it too much.
comment in response to

But also, slavery is illegal for a reason. Buying people is and should be a crime. Calling it “hiring” doesn’t make it better, even if it’s normalized by capitalists.

“Theft of productive people”
Now who is changing definitions? You literally just called people buying factory as ‘productive people’, while admitting that the actual production is done by the people those people hire.
Buying factories and being productive are not the same thing. Nice try though

comment in response to

Lol, heb je het gelezen? Er is niets links aan deze interview. In feite is het net heel rechts om Musk zomaar te geloven als die zegt dat die de overheid efficiënter wilt maken.

It also doesn’t enslave anyone. In fact the whole point is to liberate workers. But hey, never let facts get in the way of fascist propaganda.

It’s the good old argument of:
“I don’t like

- antifa
- leftists
- foreigners
- diversity in the media
- Jews
- …
therefore they must all be one and the same”
comment in response to

Orwell was himself a socialist.
He wrote the book as a warning to watch out for fake socialist who are all talk, but once in power show they were actually fascists acting as if they cared about the poor and the workers.
It’s also why German fascists called themselves national “””socialists”””.

*auditing, not auditioning. 🤣
comment in response to

In a secular society, there should be no conflict of interest for an atheist to audition churches. Anyone should be able to do it.
A better example would be: “it’s like asking Big Pharma to audit Medicaid.” or “it’s like letting a billionaire decide the tax reforms”… ow wait.

The worst part imo is the way they often try to deny it….
“Nazi’s funded social programs to help the poor. We don’t do that.”
Like, it’s not really true, but the fact you guys think THIS would be the part we should dislike about Nazi’s is disturbing.

The idea that fascists increase the budget of aid and support for the meek and the disenfranchised is not only ahistorical, but it also shows very poor understanding of WHY people dislike fascists in the first place.
comment in response to
post
Fascists increase the military budget and the number of cops. They want to show might above all and arrest anyone for the smallest misstep, whether it’s for being lgbt, non-white immigrant, or for protesting.
Fascists decrease all other budgets. The weak, the sick, the poor, they can all die.
