Conversely, its less that it is necessary and more that part of the fun of Mega Man is getting new powers per area and using them, at least for me.

Or if I could use the Cyber Elves, mechanics they clearly put a lot of thought into and want to encourage you to collect, but they just obliterate your ranking score so that's just fantastic
comment in response to post
Well, I definitely wouldn't mind the difficulty if I could quickly retry 😭
comment in response to post
Well I'm just going to pass on Zero 2, got to the boss of the plane area after the really long enemy gauntlet, died, realized it would strip me of my A Rank, and just decided this shit isn't worth it lol

My current opinion having played enough of MMZ1 and 2 right now is that this really makes me think Mega Man X4 should have been the last one for a while I can't lie, maybe Zero 3 & 4 will prove to be better experiences for me
comment in response to post
I will say it's a definite improvement over Mega Man Zero, a game I got like two missions into before getting tired of it, it basically has these problems but worse. I hope Zero 3 ditches this shoehorned in RPG element stuff with the weapons, too
comment in response to post
this entire level is ass I cannot lie, the fact that the first part is like an autoscroller disguised as anything interesting while also being like 80% pit in the game where you can't fast retry because rank matters is certainly a choice.
comment in response to post
yeah idk, is there some way to actually make it through the electrical barrier disabling puzzle without taking damage? They put a bunch of damage sponge enemies you can't jump over, you can't kill them because they respawn, like.....
comment in response to post
This level design just stinks, there's really not much else I can say about it.
comment in response to post
Ah so virtually never, I understand
comment in response to post
More importantly, it should be FAST. If you're going to demand me putting the time in, you need to make it not wasted on menus and cutscenes and dialogue I have seen already.
comment in response to post
I love rank chasing, but the game has to make it something that is convenient to do and not ham-fisted and bad. It should be hard to get good ranks, but also I should be able to reset and retry from the start without any penalty.
comment in response to post
That is the part that's getting me, the levels and bosses right now are reasonably fun! The controls are great, really most things work well. But the 10% of levels that are just bad are SO much worse because I can't fast reset!
comment in response to post
I'm on my hands and knees, can I just have a god damn fast reset option? That's it, that's all I want. I will deathless run your stage, I really don't mind!
comment in response to post
Well, those games most assuredly have reset options and/or ways for you to replay the sections in question. Every time I die in this stage in Mega Man Zero 2 I have to hard reset because the game does not give me an option (as far as I can tell) to simply restart in-game.
comment in response to post
and EVERY single time I do this I have to watch the cutscene, I have to read the mission start dialogue, I have to watch myself get teleported, mash through prompts, just end me
comment in response to post
Mega Man Zero 2 would be a lot more fun for me right now if it had a fast restart option to make all of those EX moves it is gating behind me getting a high rank significantly less tedious to do. I do not mind having to deathless run a stage well, I DO mind that you are making me reset
comment in response to post
Also the Chain Rod is really cool but the swinging feels god awful, there's no sense of momentum at all
comment in response to post
i just think if you're going to make rank a requirement for things in the game you should let me fast restart and not make this the most annoying shit in the world.
comment in response to post
It's a combination of this and the fact that any time any in-game text appears it takes up literally 1/4th of the screen and does NOT GO AWAY.
comment in response to post
I might have to turn on in-game savestates so I don't have to keep mashing through dialogue when I'm attempting to retry levels in-game at this rate
comment in response to post
Currently in the midst of 2 and getting more than a little annoyed at how much they seem to have forgotten the aspect ratio of the game they were designing levels for
comment in response to post
well, I think I got my answer to that question.
comment in response to post
No, but I think supporting a game and promoting one that has a real person who did that in it sends a pretty bad message and serves to weaken the message that the community takes this stuff seriously. Are you approaching this in good faith at all?
comment in response to post
Just got to Chipp and died, what is going on here? I think I play like, the most beltless dude in all of Guilty Gear history, Kliff has one, generously three if you count buckles on the shoes?
comment in response to post
Actually slept good for a change so.....yeah!
comment in response to post
yeah like 60hz gaming in the modern era for anything more than like, discount price to me feels like a waste of money. The Switch 2 having a 1080p120 mode feels like God's gift I am never turning that shit off
comment in response to post
As a Canadian fellow it was like, ten bucks cheaper for a Steam Deck OLED than a Switch 2, but since it did not come with a dock or anything to play it on my monitor at a higher resolution than like 800p, and the dock was like 100 CAD......
comment in response to post
Yeah it's probably still a hair cheaper. It's also geography, I don't think Steam Decks are available in Australia, but also I hate them and they don't sell them with the fffffucking dock for some reason
comment in response to post
Honestly if it wasn't part of my job I'd have skipped this one but I think after this I'm just done with consoles in general. By then I'll (likely) have moved on in the six or so years after this post, probably.

I was hoping community leaders and video makers would acknowledge this and possibly abstain from videos or at least talk about it directly to ppl because the FGC has had recent incidents re: sexual assault and this person being a char in the game feels like salt in the wound
comment in response to post
Tl;dr COTW has Ronaldo in it, who is an all but convicted sex offender who paid someone hush money (Non-disclosure settlement) instead of going to court over a sexual assault case. Seeing as he has a ton of money, it's clear he wasn't confident in court.
comment in response to post
Honestly I'm cool with it if it ends up like that LMAO
comment in response to post
Oh yeah you got it. It's not an issue with content creators outright perse, but rather their lack of willingness to bring this up to their audiences while simultaneously marketing the game. Even if they don't accept sponsorship money, it just looks and feels real bad.
comment in response to post
The long and short is this. Hush money payment for a sexual assault charge. I'm fairly confident he's guilty of it too, as someone with the kind of money he has can afford EXTREMELY good lawyers, and if he did nothing he should have full confidence in taking it to court.
comment in response to post
Ok wanted to give this a proper tl;dr but: - Saudi Arabia's EGDC owns 96% of SNK as a majority shareholder - SNK stated this wouldn't impact output - City of the Wolves features two guest chars, Ronaldo and Salvatore Ganacci. The problem is with Ronaldo. Why?
comment in response to post
I mean honestly I don't see Switch 1 games stopping anytime soon, at the very least digitally. It might just be a case of "If your game doesn't need Switch 2's juice, just put it on a Switch 1 game card"
comment in response to post
Well that certainly makes a lot of things make more sense, but also fuck

collabs huh? Well, if you'd ever like to have me, I'm always around~
