Rapper Eminem tells fans to shout “F*ck Trump” during his concert. 💀

See, the thing is, Zelensky refused to tug his forelock to Trump. Or to grovel.

If Trump was President in 1940

Jeremy Corbyn is suing Nigel Farage. RP if you can’t wait to see Nigel Farage bankrupt

New Christmas lights just went up in Clacton. (Farage is still the MP who makes most money from second jobs. By a long way.)

If Brexit hadn't wiped £40 billion off UK tax revenue, maybe the government wouldn't be clawing back taxes from farmers' inheritance... So I just hope everyone protesting against it, also protested with us against Brexit... Especially as 69% of farmers say Brexit has hurt them.

Who remembers this? Brexit means cheap food imports, says Farage - Farmers Weekly www.fwi.co.uk/news/eu-refe...

More than 50% of UK farmers voted for Brexit, but last year 83 per cent of farmers polled by Farmers' Weekly said Brexit had been worse than expected; 52 per cent supported a referendum on rejoining the EU; and 70 per cent supported rejoining the single market 🙄 inews.co.uk/opinion/an-i...

In a survey for Farmers Weekly last year, 83 per cent of famers polled said Brexit had been worse than expected; 52 per cent supported a referendum on rejoining the EU; and 70 per cent supported rejoining the single market. https://inews.co.uk/opinion/an-inconvenient-truth-for-farmers-brexit-33964…

So here’s the update. The billionaire owner of the Guardian preparing to get rid of a core part of the news org + 100 journalists. If you’re a Guardian or Observer reader, please share this. The need for a strong, free & independent press couldn’t be greater. Yet, here it is.

We’ve launched a new tool tracking the government’s progress on delivering Labour’s manifesto pledges—from dental appointments to defence spending, National Insurance to crime. 🔗 Our blog sets out our initial findings.

We don’t just compare badly to other countries, but to our own history. I read recently: “in 1937 a government investigation revealed a man on unemployment benefit received just two-fifths of the average wage”. “Just” 40%. Today it is 12%. That’s not what progress looks like.

me watching Bluesky's user count grow by another million in a day hello and welcome to all 19M of you! 🥳

Morning everyone 💙 Lovely here isn't it? Cos I'm a michief maker, I'm continuing to jab the right wingers and the bots over on X but not bothering to read the replies 😉.....it's too easy to wind them up. Even a shot of a waterfall got them going the other day!!!! 😂 Happy here 💙💙

Another day, another million new people have joined Bluesky! 18M users? 🙂‍↔️ 18M friends 🙂‍↕️

@bsky.app my son's girlfriend' mum' sister's daughter has 3 bars in the Glastonbury ticket queue 🥳

NEW: "Moving Off X: An Open Letter from UK Journalists" UK political journalists: "Twitter was, for a long time, the place to be for UK politics. We believe that time is now over... "We have taken the decision to move over to other platforms, in particular Bluesky" docs.google.com/document/d/1...

A swathe of UK journalists have signed an open letter explaining their reasons for quitting Twitter, and finding a home on Bluesky. The whole reason I stayed on Twitter for many years was the engagement of journalists and news outlets. It's great to see many of them make their X-it to Bluesky.

Bluesky has grown by over 3M people in the last week — welcome! With every wave of growth naturally comes an increase in moderation reports. Here’s a status report on how the Trust & Safety team is handling it:

Inevitably the same people who lost their shit over Starmer receiving a free concert ticket are now losing their minds because he turned down free membership of a golf course.

God knows who awarded this idiotic Tory fanzine ‘News website of the year’ because this kind of nonsense is nothing close to news. Just more howling classist outrage from a bunch of entitled, clueless halfwits.

Look at the difference in traffic between Twitter and BlueSky when you compare my newsletter last week (image one) with the one this week (image two).

Austrian Airlines suddenly looks more attractive

@evolvepolitics.bsky.social welcome aboard!

I’m not saying the Xodus is unstoppable, but I am saying my mum just forwarded me an email from her local theatre explaining why they’re moving to Bluesky. If you’ve lost South Oxfordshire amateur dramatics, you stand to lose a whole lot more.

I just talked about how great Bluesky is on MSNBC

Twitter is dead. Long live BlueSky. iandunt.substack.com/p/twitter-is...

Word of the day is ‘catchfart’, from the 17th century, used of a servant who followed their master or mistress a little too closely. In today’s terms, a catchfart is someone who fawns upon the boss or who follows the political wind.

Good morning. Word of the Day is as beautiful as it is underused. ‘Confelicity’ is finding joy in the happiness and success of others.

Since Trump's victory, Twitter users have been leaving that platform in droves. Many of them support our #FBPE movement. To make it easier for them to find other #FBPE users, I am posting 2 follow-back lists a day from now on. I mainly post lists of people who have recently migrated to BlueSky.

💓 I made a starter pack of less mainstream political voices to follow, rather than just the ones everyone has heard of go.bsky.app/FpbsVro

An extraordinary moment. Guardian to stop publishing on Twitter www.theguardian.com/media/2024/n...
