It's maddening to me that their answer to the GOP is "I guess we need to be more like them"
Why on earth would someone who believes in the GOP platform vote for an imitation of them?

40% off isn't bad actually. I'll have to think about it.

Loads of times. Currently working through a modded version called The Lion War Remixed.

Oh it's gonna be a long haul sorta thing for sure. I want to stop and smell the church flowers if you know what I mean....
I expect this undertaking will consume almost all of the rest of the year, possibly more.

This is going to be a fun journey, as I played Remake only once on release and only remember the broad strokes of what happened.
I've never played the Yuffie DLC.

Members of Congress should uniformly respond: "lol... no" and show up unannounced.

Here's hoping Revenge of the Seven hits half off on Steam then!

Iirc it affected FFVII and FFVIII as well. From what I remember it wasn't until FFIX that they started to care about preserving things, which helps to explain why the PC port of IX is loads better than both VII and VIII.

Lock this "officer" in a car and see how he likes it....

From a PR standpoint, absolutely, and I wouldn't be surprised if Lander had this conversation with them before he started doing these escorts.
The risk to him is not zero, but I gotta believe not even ICE is dumb enough to let something happen to him while in custody even if they'd love to see it.

It's wild to me that:
1. We're supposed to KNOW that these are all cops, and obey their orders or risk being jailed/killed.
2. We also need to be aware that (at least so far) one someone has impersonated cops to kill their political enemies.

My biggest issue with XVI has always been that its baseline combat feels like an FF skinned Devil May Cry.
This doesn't make it bad, but its not what I'm looking for in an FF game really.
The lack of elemental interactions in particular always bothered me.

I love this for multiple reasons.
1. Fuck ICE.
2. It demonstrates the power of collective action to mitigate harm.
3. Fuck ICE again.

I love how they made sure to say it was someone impersonating an officer when at the time it sounds like they had ZERO reason to believe that.

Loads of times. Such a great game, and nothing quite like it has been made since.
You should TOTALLY check out Severed Chains if you haven't already. Fan developed port of the game to PC.

Honest question: Do they not sell these batteries anywhere online? And what's to stop this battery from dying in like... 6 months since they're going to be of a similar age?

You're not wrong. I think the group being split for like 75% of the game is a big problem.
Stories can get away with an A and B plot for a while, especially if they converge, but A, B, *and* C plots are a bit much to juggle. Dropping the C plot helps shorten the game quite a bit IMO

If you're interested, there are some "romhacks" that shove almost all of the changes from WotL into OG.
The Lion War of the Lions is one of the better ones, as it's a hack built on another (The Lion War). ffhacktics.com/smf/index.ph.... There are other hacks that go even further with new features.

In fairness, MOST games that had "Game Title" + Advance were re-releases from what I recall so it's totally understandable to make that mistake.

I think I prefer the original release over PSP, but they both have nice things in them.
PSP has extra content and more... flowery script, but also has some slowdown problems that have to be modded to fix.
Ultimately the way I like to play it now is OG but with QOL mods from ffhacktics.com

Just as an FYI in case you were interested, the GBA games are actually totally different games from the PSX and PSP Final Fantasy Tactics.

Qualified immunity clears this without a problem because I highly doubt there is a court case saying that you can't trample non-resisting protestors with a horse already on record.
Assuming that is correct, the police could not have known they weren't allowed to based on QI.
