Yeah, you’re probably right all the way around.

Portland hid the swoops too! I’m so frustrated by this.

Will you please do this? That series was great and gave me so much context as I was getting into the league. I share it with people all the time.

Miami even got all pink shorts, with the huge swoops hidden.

Welcome aboard! Oh, no, I don’t have the answer to that question.

How much more of a legend would he be if he were wearing 31 instead of 13? I’d probably already own the shirsey.

Couldn’t agree more, as someone who has clearly delineated running outfits for temperature tiers

What about conclusions related to how many cold weather accessories a player is wearing?

“Tamworth’s Tom Tonks” sounds like a Dr Seuss character

My high school coach always had us doing that (I’m not sure much else he told us to do would be categorized as “legitimately smart”)

One of those dates included the best team of all time, and the other was the best game of all time

Anyone mention the referee who was apparently named…Gerard Gerard?

I was down one on airships the other night. They were way more common than I realized (for a very brief time!)

The lesson, as always: Watch Dakota football of any kind.

It just occurred to me that most of followers on here are probably Austin FC related and I feel like I should say I am in no way a UT fan.

Very much agree. Like a lot of the other southern/Texas/evangelical culture things, it was presented so matter of factly

Haha yeah one of the many continuity oddities of the show for sure

I knew the people who made Friday Night Lights were real ones the second I heard “Crucifictorious.” Most authentic thing I’ve ever seen on tv.

He and Candice Millard are the best history narrative writers. Highly recommend River of Doubt and Destiny of the Republic if you haven’t read them.

Can you bring back shot maps just so we can get a “That’s a paddlin’”?

It’s that classic MLS problem where teams could solve a lot of issues by having two of their best player

Thank you for this, the first Blue Sky thread for which my minimal theoretical physics knowledge was useful

Our keepers are both pretty tall for catchers so we’ll see if Cleveland can hold up over the long season haha.

The South American baseball country boys in the middle infield. Keepers are the pitchers and the catchers of soccer. Zardes is a one pitch type of closer like Mariano Rivera. He just knows how to use it.

Shortstop or catcher, depending on who you ask I guess

I’ll rephrase: If you were assigned to be the manager of an Austin FC slow pitch softball team, what would be your starting lineup by position, using the players currently on the roster. Base on vibes, soccer skills, other skills, etc
comment in response to

Sounds like you should know enough to answer this silly question then!
comment in response to

In case Mike is on (or Landon/Jeremiah are bigger baseball guys than I realize) what baseball position would each Austin FC player play? Or at least a full baseball defensive lineup of Austin FC players.

Belz from Scuffed pretty consistently gets on him about being too conservative in build up. I don’t think it’s that big of a problem but he’s been consistent on that criticism at least, and it’s valid. But also, goals!

Does this show not have producers that make sure this doesn’t happen?
comment in response to

They’re even trademarked so no one else can use that set.
