there are holdover SGs from Loyal and CA, but the club’s not giving much for new fans to work with and i sympathize with em—honestly, the reason this stands out to me is just cause it reminds me of MNUFC not going much further to “unite minnesota” than “the state bird is a loon and water is blue”

nah i fuck with it, it’s just that SDFC is such a generic club—with so few attempts to claim the city’s history in soccer or at large—that people who want to be fans have to go to other things they love as a starting point

case studies: LDS movement and jewish and christian mythology; Panafricanism, afrofuturism, and hoteps; and those “viking blood runs in my veins” guys, ÁsatrĂș vs. “brosatru”, and pop culture vikings vs. the historical Norse peoples and mythologies

but lacking powerful cohesive mythological cultural stories of “who we are and why we do what we do now”, american individualism turns to their (generic/religious) ancestry and the myths of the old continents to fill in these spaces, a process that’s deeply weird to europeans with domestic myths

(due to the genocide of the ppl & myths tied to this land predating colonialism which could have served as analogies to Kalevela and Nibelungenlied) which led to a long period where anything could become cultural mythology; the founding fathers, the wild west, Star Wars, the founding of Apple and FB

not too bent out of shape about the move cause they don’t have the strongest branding i’ve seen and i reckon we could do better, but i *have* been considering getting a secondhand jersey anyway
