Cool, I could see players combining different effects from that list based on different elemental essences for a variety of different possible outcomes. Seems very fun!

It’s certainly a challenge to create a system (which by definition enforces rules) that encourages creativity, which is what players want when they get into crafting. What sorts of ideas are you thinking about?

I played at GenCon and I got goosebumps when another player spoke the words for the first time. It’s one thing to read about the ideals in the books and it’s another thing to say them yourself while immersed in a game.

I’ve been on the fence about getting this book (we are in the middle of a campaign using the 2014 rules) but every day I find out about a new surprise in this book that seems super useful!

There’s no way I could pick. They would all be so cool!

It's one of my favorite settings I've played in, the mix of fantasy and sci-fi elements is really cool.

Chains of Gaelia is a dark fantasy TTRPG that has a completed rulebook in Italian but the English translation is in progress (I’ve reviewed a draft of it). The writer is not on Bluesky as far as I know but I could connect you to them on Discord. linktr.ee/chainsofgaelia

I’ve played @apurpleperson.bsky.social ‘s TTRPG based on Phoenician mythology and it’s very cool, but it’s been through a few different versions of the rules. www.whenskyandsea.com

A buddy of mine recently released this awesome synthwave cyberpunk TTRPG www.darkalldayrpg.com. And I know a few other people with work-in-progress TTRPGs in areas like dark fantasy and bronze-age fantasy I could link if you are interested in reviewing something in active development.

I love a good chart. Thanks for sharing!

I just watched Pokemon Concierge last night and that has me itching to tell stories in that world as a GM or player. Do you know of a Pokemon TTRPG that supports playing as a Pokemon, mystery dungeon style?

I used visual scripting tool called Mendix to create a website for my TTRPG. It was super easy to put together a character builder for my players while I continue to develop and playtest my game!

Lots of really cool projects in this post already! Here’s mine, a generic TTRPG to give GMs a complete digital toolset for whatever kind of world they want to tell stories in. www.volitionrpg.com

Haha a very understandable mistake. Are these characters from separate campaigns? Because it seems like Tamorin would have some good poems about the eaten god and Remi could help Ezarai heal mentally after realizing his god was truly dead.

How do you accidentally consume a deity???

What is your favorite character you have played in a TTRPG (including NPCs as a GM)?
comment in response to post
It was a bunch of slightly modified deep dragons from Fizban’s : 1 ancient, 2 adult, and 4 young. But I suppose the Heroes’ Feast they got before hand really limited the breath weapons’ effectiveness.

“I’m going to make two attacks with Green Flame Blade.” “Green Flame Blade requires you to Cast a Spell which you can only do once per turn.” “But I have extra attack.” “Which gives you two attacks, not two chances to Cast a Spell.” “Then how did the barbarian grapple and attack in the same turn?” 🤦‍♂️

I used to use Pinterest all the time for inspiration and visual display of characters and locations in my D&D games. Now it’s 95% AI and basically useless to me.

Very cool! Can’t wait to see the finished product.

So would this be a heritage for players to pick during character creation or are you gonna have some rules around becoming a vampire and gaining this heritage mid-campaign?
comment in response to post
Sounds fun! Concealing one’s heritage when playing a vampire seems like something that would happen often and I like penalties that are impactful. Longer fangs feel like they should also give some bonus to attacking with them but that would probably be too much for a single feat.

I think the villains should react intelligently to what the players do, whether it is according to the source material or different. Figuring that out would be the fun part for the GM.
comment in response to post
It would be really fun as a GM to make decisions for the villains and NPCs in reaction to choices the players make that the main characters don’t make in the source material.

I would want to do this with the Stormlight Archives using the upcoming Cosmere RPG, or FFXIV, or maybe a Fire Emblem game.
