Nah not their style, they'd just flag your account and it would never get anything on the front page at all. You're probably getting flagged/unflagged by users. My account is soft-hellbanned where all posts immediately go to the bottom of the page, so that's fun

Nahverkehr sollte ohnehin kostenfrei sein 🤷‍♂️

Don't do that, it's considered resisting arrest and can end in deadly force. The ambiguity of "are they cops or gangsters" aligns really well with the goals of both cops and gangsters.

Oh wow there is even a Wikipedia article about it (quick, before the deletionists get to it!) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vibe_co...

I think that's what they meant originally by "embracing the exponentials" (as in: shit code that doesn't scale), but of course LLM coding will give you all of that and more 😀

It's when you're LLMing really hard

Judging by the size of the object he's holding up, he's idealizing the penis age of a newborn?

It's not common knowledge that past colabs didn't work out. For better or worse, you seem to always carry everything alone. Take it from someone who's been there: if you need a break, you need a break. People are basically good, they might surprise you, bad experiences notwithstanding.

Moving to itch where it's one of many events would kill anything that makes it special. Personally I think it would be awesome if stewardship could pass around in the community, with an option of Mike coming back when he's ready. @ramiismail.com would be a good candidate to start off with I think

LD participants messaged him several times over the years, offering to help out. On some level I can understand his decision to keep it his baby, and he really did keep the community together. Of course the trade off is that there is a bus factor of 1

It's insane that it's 2025 and the US still has sheriffs, for no beneficial reason.

No I think they smiled and asked how they can help

What people don't understand is: we simply don't have the technology to charge it any other way. If this ever gets invented, Apple will be the first to market. But that tech is still 20 years away.

The structure of the IA is unfit for purpose. Even if leadership didn't have a corporate death wish, it's SPoF and eventually the wolves will still win and shut it down. Safekeeping/storing of content needs to be separated from publishing/serving, and the whole thing needs international replication.

Adolf "Hihi" Hitler it's turning in his grave right now. But "Jojo" Stalin would approve.

Now THAT's the AI content I'm here for

When opinions are as fundamental as "trans people are permitted to exist" vs "no" - or "people should be able to have abortions" vs "no". What's the centrist position? "Human rights but only on Tuesdays"?!?
comment in response to post
Centrism exists simply to continually cede ground to the right, why would any progressive want that?

I haven't heard much from her, but when I did it was always this level of reprehensible. It's just that now a lot of people seem to have run out of apology juice.

Can someone eli5 this to me, I know they're random actors but what's so significant about it?

I don't even care about the corruption as much anymore, because it's been eclipsed by the treason

I often go to lengths NOT to find out too much about an author, because once you know something it does lessen the ability to enjoy their works.

I'm going to become "that guy" who reminds everybody to at least try and look into Linux, or even macOS. Windows is convenient, but I suspect it's a lot less irreplaceable than Microsoft thinks it is. Same goes for MS Office

I phrased that poorly. Why are you pessimistic about it?

Why do you think AGI might be physically impossible?

I can think of some positive benchmarks for a Chaya interview: Did it move any normies? Did it make her or her positions socially untenable? Did it provide ammunition for progressives? Did it provide any new insights into her movement, her future strategies, or her thought process?
comment in response to post
The intent is certainly laudable. Chaya is too successful to make starving her of attention an option. However, many things went wrong here. Accepting and using Chaya's lingo and phrases while not pressing her on points certainly didn't help optics. But honestly not sure a win was in even the cards
comment in response to post
At this point Chaya does not need a platform, it's already too late. I would argue there'd be value in an interview that methodically provides insight into her ideology and her plans. But that would require not allowing her to hide behind her special lingo and phrases.
comment in response to post
Ngl that interview was hard to watch. I know it's easy to armchair-quarterback things, but damn that video yielded no new information for progressives, while providing the right with an easy optics win.

For a moment there I panicked and thought that I'm missing a Ludum Dare currently taking place 😅

Hot take: this is very good. I mean, I'm personally unlikely to ever buy anything from Meta and that's a horrendous price BUT in general I'd rather pay for a product than be exploited by an ad "ecosystem".
