I remember a conversation I once had with an economist friend. He said too much discussion about saving insects was stunting industrial progress. He felt we should be glad that there fewer insects to bother us. I had to go back to primary school level predator pyramid/food web models to explain. 🙄

Thanks. That’s new to me. In my opinion, “The Dictator” is arguably Chaplin’s most important work, resonating throughout popular culture. It would be interesting to see if/where the film might have been censored or even banned upon general release.

He hated it but he was still called John Cougar when I saw him sing this song. He was the opening act for a Beach Boys concert. There were two very different audiences in the crowd that night. No idea what planet the promoter was living on. 🙄🤣

Seeing the news brought you to mind as I thought back to your presentation in the basement of the museum just hours before the last big flood in the town.

I once made hummus with so much garlic that, not only were there tears but my whole mouth and throat felt burnt. 🥵

I grew up seeing "Like a Thief in the Night" several times over the years at my church's special evangelism outreach movie nights. This would have been the perfect antidote to my young teen nightmares. Bravo!

You having brought genitalia into play has got me wondering if “brimless hat” is some kind of euphemism. 😳

Understandable reticence from Orkney Library (and indeed Shetland Library).
We Scottish islanders are naturally suspicious of this unfamiliar concept of a "blue sky".
