As I understand it, the downturn of the UK and the US began during the Thatcher/Reagan era. How ignorant we were back then. The world envied your health system and American opportunity. Then greed found a way to destroy the best of us both. We must turn that trend around.

I have worked in the EU before and after the changes to movement, I know full well it isn't what it was but I can tell you the changes really aren't a big deal. Particularly not when there are real problems with the EU that deserve far more discussion (not unique to the EU, as you pointed out).

You can still live and study in EU countries, and remains possible to learn other languages. FoM isn't the problem, but the EU benefits wealthy western states at the expense of the rest of the world. Brits having a longer queue at the airport and a convoluted visa process is not a big deal.
