yeah, just like we held him responsible for every crime he committed last time. yup. more likely that actuarial tables will catch up with him, and we'll have to be satisfied with hoping that white rethuglikkkunt jesus sent him to hell.

For me its their legs. I squick out over things with fewer than two or more than four legs; things that fly without feathers (bats are cute but I still shiver); things that sting. Flying insects are especially awful because no feathers and six legs. New Orleans has COCKROACHES THAT FLY. Never again.

The most useful class at any level of school I've ever taken, bar none, was Typing 1A with Mrs. Jean Welch my first semester of high school. She taught me to touch type on one of these. And it was then almost as ancient as I am now ... and I fart dust now.

I was once told that English is the easiest language in the world to speak badly and still be understood.

the money goes to the publisher, not to him or his estate. all his stuff is in the public domain now, so anybody can publish it. get his stuff for free at gutenberg.org.

it all depends on how you orient and harness. when wielded against other people to degrade and harm, i agree, it's a negative. when used against yourself in positive ways (to make yourself better at whatever, to achieve your goals), it's not. i have a specific author in mind for this, who kills it.

i get car crashes, shots of people being wannabe organ donors on motorcycles, and meat butchering.

i piss off my fiance when i say that coming to a cease fire is difficult because neither side wants to compromise. from either side: how do you compromise with the other guy who espouses your complete and total destruction?

I hate Texas for a lot of reasons and am glad to be mostly gone (wanna buy a condo in Fort Worth?), but I wish my kids had wanted to come with me.

I do it professionally and it’s *so* hard. I’m a line editor by preference, and do proofreading because there’s a market. But I always have to stop myself from going beyond.

Everybody needs money and he's homeless and jobless after being thrown out by his now-ex-wife. It's pretty high on his list.

Oh, your last question: What did it cost? It varies greatly by editor. My rates are negotiable, depending on scope of work, but I (currently, always subject to change) use 3 cents USD per word as a baseline for a line edit, up or down from there.

I'm a professional freelance editor, and I point out that if you want to go trad-pub, your agent (if you get one) will help you with editing your MS, and the publisher will give you an editor as well, free. You may want to consider that. But no editor can help you polish a turd, so do your best.
