It’s sooo gnarly 😣 tbh I’ll take it over covid or the flu but that’s really not saying much lol

It was 2/3 of the way through the second book in a series that i'm enjoying so i'm telling myself it was missed in editing BUT if it happens again i'm absolutely DNFing the series

That's super fair! I've decided to stay and continue pushing leftist progressive information, I refuse to let the neo nazis in power push us off these massive social media sites even more. But if I didn't have the platform I do, i'm not sure i'd stay.

Thank you! I turned most of this stuff off already, I think i'll need to delete the Messenger app from my phone if I want to limit tracking even more. Annoying but likely necessary at this point.

Totally - I keep the page (relatively) anonymous on purpose for safety. I really don’t like the idea that Meta “knows” and is showing me to the strangers I match with on dating sites! Oof

It’s a lightweight puffer coat I found on ASOS a couple winters ago! It’s my favorite 😍

You and the beautiful works you create deserve all of the praise and recognition! Thank you for writing some of my very favorite characters and stories 💛

Thank you! I read a TON so this is pretty typical for me (140 books so far this year lol). Procrastinating the last in a great series is so real!! I usually read a handful of books at once which definitely helps keep the momentum.

Ooh, what’s the name of the bookstore? I’ll add it to my list for the next time i’m in SF :) those books sound great

The Pairing by Casey McQuiston has the best yearning i’ve read all year! and it’s queer and smutty! so good 😭

Woodinville is so charming! I've been to Bellingham many times but had never been to this bookstore, definitely one of the best I've found so far. Multiple floors, great selection, and the coziest vibes!

I need the final FBAA book immediately 😭 have you read the prequel series with Sera & Ash?

Ty for the emoji note! will do moving forward The Dawnhounds sounds fantastic and a cover blurb by Tamsyn Muir is a sure fire way to pique ny interest!

I read Phantasma last month and thought it was so fun, i’d be curious to hear your thoughts after you finish!

oh gosh, what an impossibly difficult question to answer! i’m going to need to mull it over a bit

The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden stands out - Russian folklore based, very whimsical and says a lot about gender roles and modernization. And Dark Rise by CS Pacat - YA fantasy but oof it tore my heart out I’ll have to check out your recs!

hell yeah! have you read any of Casey McQuiston’s books? they’re my favorite queer romance author, i met them on Halloween and was so excited

Yess I highly recommend! The first book or two felt a little typical fantasy-ish but i’m obsessed
comment in response to post
I get that! Same with writing, i think the solution is to not overthink it and just start 😅😭

oh i have endless fantasy recs! lots of mediocre ones but many standouts too haha, i’d love to know whats the best nonfiction you’ve read this year!
comment in response to post
that’s impressive! mine looks incredibly different 😂 i’m on my 4th nonfiction book of the year

The great thing about books is that they’re always there waiting for you! Great can mean so many things, but one of the best books i’ve read this year is Monstrillio by Gerardo Sámano Córdova. Fired up books… i’m reading On Tyranny right now and it has me feeling fired up for sure!

Ooh i haven’t heard of any of those, that’s awesome. I get it, the only podcasts i’ve gotten into have been fiction serial ones, audiobooks are my go to for chores and driving

such a good point! if you’re looking for smutty and outlandish the audiobook for Lights Out is on Spotify and it’s equal parts unhinged and spicy. i’m 60% through and enjoying every moment

I just looked it up and it sounds amazing, ty for the recommendation!

I’ve heard such great things about Red Rising! i’m knee deep in too many series right now but i’ll def check it out eventually! (my TBR piles are glaring at me rn lol)

ooh i don’t! i listen to audiobooks through the Libby app or Spotify mostly.

I’m all over the place - mostly fantasy, romance, and horror these days but litfic, classics, and mystery make it in my rotation too. how about you?
comment in response to post
Ooh i read mostly fiction, tons of fantasy, romance and horror. magical realism is great too. LJ Andrews is one of my favorite authors i’ve discovered this year. and if you haven’t read anything by Silvia Moreno-Garcia she does amazing magical realism!
