I think that Democrats should boycott the State of the Union, which is pointless. Instead, of having a Democrat provide the rebuttal, they should bring in recently fired federal workers to describe the important work they used to do.

This is an exhaustive and much needed piece on Musk and DOGE from @nytimes.com #TeslaTakedown

There are a lot of people on here smugly telling people that protests don't work, that boycotts are pointless. These people are part of the problem, not the solution. Taking action, even at the most base level, as opposed to only calling reps, or posting, is a highly effective form of engagement.

I have written a short statement responding to mass firings today of #NOAA / National Weather Service (#NWS) staff (which were concentrated among recent hires as well as highly experienced staff who had recently been promoted). Please see below screenshot & below for full text.

5 former Secretaries of Defense call on Congress to exercise oversight responsibility on Trump-Hegseth firing of senior military leaders: The "dismissals raise troubling questions about the administration’s desire to politicize the military and to remove legal constraints on the President’s power."

If your rep won't do a town hall, set one up yourself, invite the community, and call in your local news to cover their absence.

If you are a parent looking for illustrations for a kids book you want to make for your kid, I assure you the crudest looking doodle you draw will be a million times better and more memorable than trying to get chat gpt to make you some soulless pixar-lite slurry

We said we will focus on interoperability for 2025 and we are ready to share the first results. Embedding Python in Elixir, it's Fine: dashbit.co/blog/running... More updates likely at ElixirConf EU 2025 :)

Maybe corny but it was helpful for me to hear Henry Rollins saying "this is not time to be dismayed, this is punk rock time, this is what Joe Strummer trained you for... You can be thunderous in your own life, to the eight people around you. That rubs off... Goodness is viral"

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

friend, i couldn’t help but notice the boot on my neck has its laces untied

All these articles about Democrats moaning over their messaging issues make me tired. You know what's more important than messaging? ACTION. Don't TALK about the price of eggs. Tell people "MEET US IN THE PARK - WE'RE GIVING OUT FREE EGGS. THAT'S RIGHT - FREE EGGS FROM THE DEMOCRATS!"

Without having watched it, I assume at some point the name of the company and/or product are mentioned? So, the problem is "You, an investor, are afraid other people will get rich investing in AI. Invest in us, and we'll give you the 1000x everyone's talking about."

I love the fact that Michael Whelan has always been so open about his processes and struggle. Following his career since I was young and realized that his cover art had effectively been my guide for finding good books for years, he has never hidden the amount of work it takes to make good imagery.
