Some people will tell you that prototyping a new game is all about possibilities and exploring risky challenges. Exploring the unknown and evaluating fun quickly. But they're wrong. Prototyping is REALLY about debugging for 2 days before finding a +/- 1 issue and needing to go take a walk.

I have a bit of an obsession with cons, schemes, and considering what it takes to dupe people (game designer etc etc). The fact is, it’s very easy to manipulate people, and optimism bias and a broad culture of individualism plays a huge role in the ease of misinformation distribution.
