And, idk, maybe it's not chill to say anymore, but I kinda believe artists have a duty to humanity to think about stuff like that. That the whole thing about art. We make observations and then put those back out into the world in a new form; a painting, a song, a embroidery, etc.

The funny thing is, I remember Cthulhu merchandise exploding in popularity around 2006/2007, and there's the reason right in your research: "Lovecraft Properties LLC... rights holders to Lovecraft's works had been dissolved by the state of Rhode Island in 2007." Fascinating!
