Reliance on high stakes exams will always result in attempts to get around such a system. Extra time, rest breaks & additional supportive spaces are important for many young people sitting exams. But access must be a matter of equality and need - not whether you went to private school.

Listening to the taxing private schools debate, some MPs are opposing on peculiar basis of providing "our children" with good education. But only ~6% can afford private school, so I'll be voting for a wider definition of "our" children who deserve a good education: ALL children.

Today is Equal Pay Day, when women effectively stop being paid compared to their male colleagues. We would require all large and medium-size companies to carry out equal pay audits and redress any inequality uncovered. Equal pay for equal work should not be too much to ask.
