🌱 some garden shots. Itching for autumn tbh but trying to enjoy the last bits of summer

The cognitive dissonance of getting up every morning and making coffee and walking the dog and going to meetings and answering emails and wondering what to make for dinner while there is a real live actual coup d’etat happening is BONKERS

🌱 Do you think she'll keep growing?

🌱 summer snacks 🫐 I never got around to netting my blueberries this year. The birds have finally spared me a few big handfuls.

🌱Junimo wild pork dumplings with veggies from the garden and ginger tea 🍽 creating little pockets of joy to refill my cup while we take on 2025 together #stardewvalley

Okay Bluesky, I've been here a while and found lovely garden content, but where do I find #sewing? Or other sustainable living/tiny house families? Where do I post my little diy low-waste parties?

Who has an automated garden system? I'm setting up irrogation this year to free up more time for planting, foraging, and dreaming. I need to be able to run it off a mini solar setup, and I'd like to eventually integrate it with a weather monitoring system. Has anyone used home-assistant.io? 🌱

🌱 I'm curious why my cosmos haven't been thriving the last couple years but my pumpkins and kale have been making up for it. I know it's only summer but I'm soooo ready for autumn and early winter so I can get started on improvements for next growing season. #gardening

Throwing a birthday party for my cat a birthday because absurdity is the only thing holding me together #catlady

🌱 Tūī have been loving our Pōhutukawa and I got rain for Christmas. It feels strange this year, like the calm before a storm. Take care of yourselves, hug your neighbours, and build more connected, more resilient communities with me in 2025. Meri Kirihimete e te whānau 🎄

how far does a branch bend before it breaks? When the tree hasn’t been watered, its leaves plucked, Its bark peeled— why are they surprised when the branches snap and fall? Why do we blame the tree and not the arborist?

ACT wants to permanently change how regulations are made in NZ and enshrine ACT's principles in our legal system. This is through the Regulatory Standards Bill, which has been quietly making its way through Parliament. We have to raise and alarm and stop this from happening.

🌱 Our Pōhutukawa dressed up for summer Christmas and the solstice 🌞 I love how she does some of her own decorating with the beautiful red flowers. I hung some felt ornaments I made of some of my favourite native birds in between. Almost time to open Christmas gifts with breakfast in the garden 🌻🐝

🌱 Summer Garden ☀️ everything is growing, especially our duck, Sunny Bread Roll! While I water, she nibbles on the silverbeet and kale. I've laid a 10cm thick layer of grass clippings onto my beds to lock in moisture. I need to get some drip lines or soaker hoses in to minimise water loss. #solarpunk

🌱 just a quick a dirty phone picture of my veggie patch 👩🏼‍🌾 it's been so dry but I've gotten my hands on some grass clippings so I've been watering my plants deeply then putting a thick layer of the grass ontop of the mulch. It should help reflect sunlight and lock in moisture 🤞so far so good!

🌱 thinking of turning my raised stone garden beds into wicking beds this winter. Anyone have any suggestions for what to line them with? Should I just mortar the stone? We are getting dryer Summers each year. I need to focus on water conservation and resilience before I have a desert 🏜 #diy
