Hi Wendy, thank you for your comment. We hear you and agree that it can be incredibly dangerous to walk around San Francisco.

2. Demand left turn restrictions remain on Valencia Street. Drivers making left turns are one of the deadliest threats to pedestrians – and this is all too true on Valencia.
Getting to #VisionZeroSF means safety being #1 on our streets, every time. Let’s go! #IWalkSF

As SF looks toward its next #VisionZeroSF policy & plan, it's a great time to look to Hoboken (especially when it comes to daylighting!). See you at SPUR!

"If drivers would slow down on all San Francisco streets, we’d immediately see dramatically fewer crashes — just like what’s happened on Slow Streets," says Walk SF executive director Jodie Medeiros.

Grateful to Bay Area Families for Safe Streets member Jenny Yu, whose mom Judy was hit by a speeding driver in the Richmond district. Jenny went to Sacramento with us MANY times over the years in our work to pass legislation making speed cameras legal.

Grateful to the @sfmta.com for making our city lead the pack with the first cameras in the state! With speeding as the #1 cause of severe and fatal crashes in SF, these cameras are desperately needed and WILL SAVE LIVES & accelerate progress on #VisionZeroSF.

🚸 Daylighting prevents 1 in 3 traffic crashes by ensuring clear sightlines at intersections.
➡️ Email the SFMTA now to show there is overwhelming support for daylighting at 🔗 walksf.org/daylighting.

Speeding is the #1 cause of severe & fatal crashes in SF. In 2024, SF had the highest # of traffic fatalities since 2007. These speed cameras can't get here soon enough.
