Ex-Reform UK employees issue claims for alleged unpaid wages. Employees claim they were summarily dismissed after the UK general election without payment for several months of work. Reform MPs voted against Labour's modest Bill on workers' rights. Be careful what you wish for. archive.ph/4O17Y

Despite what the press tells us, the government is very busy, often doing popular things. But you wouldn’t know it from the press coverage eastangliabylines.co.uk/politics/gov...

Devil is in the detail but many if not most won’t do detail

100% this. Cracking read. We either have morals and pride - or we don't.

Word of the Day is ‘quockerwodger’ (19th century): a puppet individual whose strings are pulled entirely by someone else.

I think I've found a way to articulate what bothers me about the trajectory of the modern tech industry (and to some extent... society). We are on this Earth to provide for each other. That's the "mission" of humanity as I see it. This is incompatible with what the tech industry seeks to do.

“Few would have imagined that in post-Brexit Britain, a young person could take a job in Japan for two years but be unable to do the same in France. Yet here we are” sussexbylines.co.uk/world/europe...

Word of the day is ‘arsle’ (19th century): to have a distinct sense of going backwards.

Have a straw poll on Truss sanity?

Hear hear - read the room

The Tories never learned from focussing all their energy on pandering to the extremes of their unsavoury cohort and trying to satisfy all the sound-byte MPs. Can someone please have a word in Labour ears and tell them we need to see a solid identity based on integrity and displaying sound thinking.

Holy shit this cartoon.

Well worth listening to Fred Trump with Lewis Goodall - Democrats take note of closing comments

Not a single person has been put on trial for killing 72 people at Grenfell. But they can lock up non-violent Just Stop Oil protestors for more than 60 years, because they are a 'danger'.

Imagine you were the richest man in the world. You could have anything you wanted, go anywhere you wished, do whatever took you fancy. How would you spend your weekend? Depriving the poorest people in the world of food and healthcare and boasting about it?

CIA offers buyouts to entire workforce to align with Trump priorities, sources say - www.reuters.com/world/us/cia.... ‘… installing loyalists …’ Truly frightening to watch the transition to dictatorship 😱

Keir Starmer: "In December 2020 I was working... on one of the most important issues for our country in recent years. What were they doing? Suitcases of booze into Downing Street, partying and fighting, vomiting up the walls, leaving the cleaners to remove red wine stains. That's the difference."

Lest we forget 😱🤬

ok, so basically I'm trying to make this post go viral.

Omg - woke up earlier to hear Trump wants to build Disney Israel (well that’s what it amounts to - doesn’t it?) He sees everything through the lens of a real estate agent - doesn’t he? 😱🤯

This is so good.

The world's richest man - perhaps the richest man who has ever lived - gloating about shutting down aid for the world's poorest people. All while posing as the champion of the common man. The great lie of populism in its most naked and morally putrid form.

We’ve been watching Wolf Hall, a fascinating study of how the fragile male ego of a fickle, greedy despot creates a culture of deep cruelty and mistrust, where everyone lives in fear of saying the wrong thing. Thank goodness we’ve moved on from those times.

Scintillating response to Donald Trump’s latest drivel
