You may be thinking of the atoms/elements that compose the earth which yes haven't changed, but think about how igneous rocks are formed and new crystals are grown. And then those metamorphose and/or erode and then deposit as sediment, on and on for BILLIONS of years. Finding rocks this old is rare!

Seems like it was a clear mistake, and besides Nintendo likes to take turns marketing and releasing games and right now that game of the moment is DKB. So I doubt they’d want to steal that game’s thunder right before release bsky.app/profile/wari...

I was about to say, they left the Halo series in 2010 and released the first Destiny in 2014, which was also the year they partnered with Activision. Destiny had some ups and downs, but the decline definitely started with that partnership.

Doesn't appeal to you maybe, but HK films sell very well and are constantly in demand. Every physical media group I'm in has lots of people excited for these titles

Pleasantly surprised to see Criterion do Dolby Vision HDR for every 4K this month, no 4K SDRs

Blue Prince sounds like "blue prints"

really weird art, almost looks like a mockup. Just by looking at the spine on someone's shelf you wouldn't even know this is 007/James Bond

wouldn't be Venture Bros if it didn't have deep-cut old references few people understood or remember.

Check out your local thrift stores! Plenty of perfectly good Bluray players just being given away for nothing

Tip that helped me get my first wins: try not to spend very much at the start. The goal is to get to $25 as fast as possible so you get the max $5 interest bonus each round, so just kinda ignore buying anything other than your starting jokers. Big-money moves later on = more freedom shaping your run

Barbarian is Fox/Disney and this is WB so probably unrelated. Hopefully we will see that happen though, we got Prey 4K from them after a similar situation

My counterpoint to my counterpoint though is everybody's collection is their own and the only "correct" way to sort is whatever they're happiest with

My counterpoint to this has always been I hate how chaotic alphabetical looks and feels. If it's meant to bring organization to my collection, I've justnever felt that way lol. And why is it even worth it just to save like 6 seconds looking for a movie? (which is the part I enjoy 😅)

I wonder if you could sell Pareidolia mid-round and it would stop?

To be clear, I'm not defending the practice at all. I just kinda see it as a sad inevitable consequence of the current situation

Sadly, independent journalism died when people stopped paying for it as the internet/social media took over. Clickbait is a desperate gasp from the last few survivors. It's a shitty maneuver but nobody seems to have a solution to save the industry and now AI is threatening to crush what's left of it

From what I read, the whole library was stuck in limbo being owned by a Hong Kong real estate company. The reason it took so long to be freed was that they wanted to sell the entire library and not just select hits like the John Woo films. So it's taken years for somebody to finally buy it all

A videogame where you try to use poker hands and collect special cards to change the rules to reach a target score and move onto the next level. It started as a tiny indie game and now it's the #1 game on all the the app store charts because it's extremely satisfying and addicting.

Let it never be forgotten that as cool as Indy is, he should always be balanced with a slapstick gag to ground him and make him belt out a high-pitched looney tunes yell youtu.be/SofTwyYi6Uo

Frances the Mute was the first album I listened to by The Mars Volta and I felt none of the rest of their discography capture that same feeling, even their first and most popular album. It's weird I connected with Frances so much (such a "cathartic" album) but the rest just aren't my thing.

Even just in the recent historical record, we've managed to lose over 90% of all American films from before 1929.

There was a court case recently about this when an airliner argued they weren't responsible for their AI chatbot lying to you (in this case making up false policies that fucked some people over) even though they downsized the customer support team and replaced them with AI. Court ruled against them.

I remember reading that WB DVDs/Blurays discs from a certain time span are all predisposed to rotting now due to a mistake in how they were pressed. Mainly the old Blade Runner blurays were all affected and most of those copies won't play anymore.

I like that there's still a stock market in the Half-Life 2 nightmare future. Everybody may be reproductively sterile and kept from seeing any loved ones in over a decade, but at least you can invest in the economy!
