In the FT natural SPD voter ‘thinking’ of AfD: cross at claims of progress by Scholz and “Work must pay off again. And when it comes to immigration, I am also of the opinion that anyone who wants to live here must do their part.”. Nothing Labour wouldn’t agree with but the message is being confused.

There’s research showing how much dissent an individual can take in a 2 way relationship - it’s no more than 50%. Constant opposition from those we rely on to negotiate on our behalf will not help us.

Low party membership is a curse on UK politics. No one seems to buy the argument you join so you can change / influence not because you agree so very much it’s a badge of your personality.
