When im not tending to dogs and kids, I’m probably reading historical romance and watching cooking reality TV shows.

My oldest would pedantically name all these characters and try to tell you the specs of their setups.

Ugh, the Goldfinch. I finished it for a book club, otherwise I would have stopped halfway though when I realized the book isn’t going anywhere with the plot or the characters.

One of my all time favorites.

Summer seasonal depression is the worst. It’s August. I’m sick of having my kids home. It’s too hot, and our house doesn’t have AC. The sun is up too long.

He looked like a greasy, wet dog and was anxious, not proud. It’s a pretty movie, but boy is it not for me.

At least Shakespeare in Love is a good movie (maybe not best picture, but really solid)

I had to unfollow that account years ago when it became all about pregnancy and trying to conceive. Just talk to me about toddler behavior, please!

I skim blurbs all 99% of the time. They never tell me anything useful about the book.

Honestly, that’s me with nearly all Christopher Nolan movies.

Visually they’re cheaply made, the writing and acting aren’t particularly good, and a lot have borderline Christian Media Messages. That said, sometimes I’m in the mood for that level of cheese.

I’ve been sticking with historical romance for the most part. Every time I read a new contemporary romance, I regret it.

I kept falling asleep reading it. I tapped out in the middle of the Two Towers and decided the movies were good enough.

At this point romcom just means romance and it kills me. Give me banter!

I think about Reboot a shocking amount. They replayed it on Cartoon Network when I was a teen, so I knew it was real!

I still mourn the loss the the genuine ugly sweater vest I got at Goodwill in 2008. I had no idea ugly sweater parties would be going strong 15 years later.

No, that’s just David Lynch.
