None of us can be sure what will “work.” You try multiple things and find your way in. Read some histories of the Civil Rights Movement by those who participated. They were never “sure” of what would work. Some campaigns fizzled out. But persistence, creativity, determination, and focus were key.

Posting this from months ago because we DO have homegrown experience with autocratic regimes in this country. In nearly half this country during the first 6 decades of the 20th century Black people lived under systems of cruelty, voter suppression, hate, state violence & corruption. Ask them!

Relevant History: The Pendleton Civil Service Reform Act of 1883 established the first comprehensive merit-based civil service system in the US. It was intended to do away with "The Spoils System" whereby unqualified people got govt jobs for their political loyalty, a bad system we've returned to.
