Haha sure am! Absolutely adored their Gold Master Series from the last few years. Great example of games preservation in context and especially making it as widely accessible as they can.

Love how he needs to stand on two letter blocks in order to look large enough

If you haven't booked your hotel yet (unless you are willing to travel from Dusseldörf to Köln), do know that prices for hotels have risen exponentially in that period. Perhaps if you can combine a hotel with others it can be more doable.

In case you do ever pick it up. Grind a few of the earlier missions and consider it like the PSP game it once was. Do a few missions every day and play it in chunks. That's honestly the easiest way to get through it.

Just began part II. This game is cooking.

The NS2 upgrade pack is bought via the eShop or at retailers. The upgrade is digital so your game's format shouldn't matter. For subscribers of NSO+ Expansion pack (higher tier) these NS2 upgrades are also free as long as you remain subscribed to that tier.

And no, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Pokémon Legends: Z-A are not availble to order yet, nor are their upgrade packs and contents known.

Even if this show ends in disappointment, this is the best thing to ever come out of Star Wars. Period.

There's a mascot down the road that stole my heart so badly. There are some peak designs in this game.

I may have gasped too loudly seeing this article

Thanks! It's our belief that games are cultural heritage and as such we hope to earn the trust from companies to preserve their work and provide context for the game's development. Earning trust takes time so we always mention that we can give it a safe home if a developer so chooses.

Archives, institutions and organizations can make sure that these documents are handled with care, in terms of confidentiality and redacting personal information where needed. The ones we have at our institute are also from older projects developed between the 80's and early 2000's and were donated.

Again, I fully understand that the original purpose of a GDD has changed and become outdated with the ease of use and tools for smaller teams. But learning from these types of documents has been prevalent for game historians and researchers. I'm curious what could be a modern equivalent to that.

You're totally right in the sense that the works themselves should be leading. But there are thousands of books and studies of the works of Van Gogh. Helping us reach different interpretations of his art because his journals and letters helped to explain his methodology and approach to art.

(ofc. I'm looking at this from a historical perspective and I shiver at the thought of preserving multiple builds / prototypes to show iteration, rather than having documentation that can explain the core ideas and ambitions in a more concise manner).

I totally understand and see that particular argument, though I am curious how iteration can best be understood from a design perspective if not adhering to some form of consistent documentation? It also sounds like that approach works best for small teams with little need for onboarding?

He will move a lot smoother in this iteration for sure

A lot of people are saying that the US will only isolate themselves with this trade war. But I disagree. If there's one thing I've learnt from 2020, it's that Americans will never isolate themselves.

It's hard to look downhill when you're standing on a mountain of money...

Shoutouts to @jusdberube.bsky.social who's been an absolute trooper in fact-checking this alongside me and providing some notes and helpful missing information. Spot any missing info, or still have some lingering questions? Let us know!

Stardew Valley makes too much sense for that particular timeframe. A Short Hike seems fitting too.

safari op de mac bewaart met deze functie zelfs de afbeeldingen en een gedeelte van de opmaak. (zo bewaar ik braaf al mijn gepubliceerde werk)

Yeah but also use your national archive to find sounds and music you didn't know existed and may already be out of copyright or can easily be (re)used for your own projects 😎 www.beeldengeluid.nl/collectie/co...
