Agreed!

I post this under almost every vote with Abreu left off and Rollins ticked, the thought that I successfully Abreu-Pilled one of the ballot tracker guys with my relentless annoyed posting of a stated screenshot makes me need to sit down.

I don’t want to take credit, but did my annoying ass have an effect on your vote?

The argument for Kinsler to me is “damn that guy has a higher WAR than I thought.” But even then Bobby Abreu is better in that regard, +he has better counting stats to boot.

For a lot of people it’s the extended playoff resume that puts Pettitte over the edge, but playoffs are happenstance. It just so happened he played for one of the greatest organizations in sports for most of his career, and even when he wasn’t on the Yankees, Houston made the WS with him in 2005.

He shouldn’t be in because of roids, not the numbers.

We just need to get the dinosaurs who only vote for players who you don’t need to think critically about off the mailing order.

I cannot tell if this is a bot or just incredibly absurd.
comment in response to

I agree, but compare his raw numbers with Pettitte’s, and they are shockingly similar.

TBF, if you had to vote for 5 players only, idk if there’s a better group of 5 players you could choose.
comment in response to

Huh, might be the first ballot this cycle with Manny and A-Rod but not Pettitte. It’s usually the opposite.

Why? 10 vote ballot, CC, Ichiro, Wagner, Jones, and Beltran are all no doubters to me, Utley has a significant case sabermetrically, and Pettitte would be in already if it weren’t for him admitting to PEDs. I don’t agree with Wright, Rollins, and Pedroia (Mets fandom aside) but 5-7/10 isn’t awful.

Why? 4 players in baseball history are in the top 100 all time in Walks, Steals, Runs, and RBIs
Tris Speaker
Ty Cobb
Barry Bonds
Bobby Abreu.
We know why bonds isn’t in, and speaker and Cobb are no doubters, why is Abreu on the outside looking in?

Abreu put up better numbers and is top 100 all time in bbs, runs, RBIs, and steals. that list goes Tris Speaker, Ty Cobb, Barry Bonds, Bobby Abreu.
comment in response to

I’d take Abreu over Rollins, and Wagner over Buehrle, but yeah, hard to complain about a 10 vote ballot, but some head scratchers for sure.

Less games, more plate appearances.
comment in response to

Made 3 all star games and won a chip and mvp? Is Pedroia a HOFer too then? What about Willie Hernandez? Is George Foster a generational snub to you? Look me in the eyes and tell me you think Denny McClain is worthy of a plaque in Cooperstown. All star games, and MVPs are almost totally meaningless.

Every day I ponder why Bobby Abreu isn’t as popular a choice as Jimmy Rollins. And every day I drink.
comment in response to

Jones good, Omar ok (not a massive Omar hater, as in his hof case not him as a human being, fuck him as a fuck being)
That being said: How is Rollins in and not Abreu?

Every year his ballot sucks, can we just kick him out of the bbwaa already?

You’re out of your mind “no team needs a lefty” trot out a team with only right handed pitchers you’re losing 100 games unless you’re trotting a top 5 offense and top 5 defense with it. You have no ball knowledge.
comment in response to
post
Not every team has a tall pitcher, not every team has a guy name Brian, every team needs multiple left handed bullpen arms. It’s an integral aspect of baseball. Of those lefty bullpen arms, Wagner is the best to ever wear cleats. (Also he just deserves to be in on his own merit, duh).
comment in response to
post
Handedness of a pitcher certainly matters more than handedness of a batter, as teams would base their decisions of what pitcher goes in to get the advantage. Again, fucking height doesn’t have as much effect on how teams approach you. Tall players can suck as much as short players. No effect.
comment in response to

Should that make THIS much of a difference in voting outcome? I don’t think that’s fair at all.
comment in response to
post
A players name has no actual effect on the game. Being a southpaw does. That’s a dishonest comparison.
comment in response to

The logic in Wagner is he’s the best Lefty Reliever ever.

If Jimmy Rollins is a Hall of Famer to you, why isn’t Bobby Abreu?
comment in response to

Normally against people dropping someone from their ballot, but I’m an evil Met fan, so approved.
comment in response to

This… ok. Ignoring the lack of Billy Wagner and Andruw Jones. Explain choosing Jimmy Rollins please? Bobby Abreu is better than him at every counting stat except steals, and every rate stat too.

Pedroia and Kinsler over Abreu certainly is a take.
