100% this, sometimes I write one sentence on the train, and another during my lunch break and that's all my writing time for the day.

I've never seen pantser described as 'explorer' before, I like it.
I plot a general direction, but the best scenes I write were never part of the original plan.

Unfortunately the present is also a corporate hellscape.

I feel that, though often simple plots written well are much better than a complex concept.

This is the most relatable writing post I've seen.

Well done, treat yourself to a book as a reward!

True and admirable. What was the book?

Haha, I'd love a list of complaints though, there's no way it could be worse than my own internal criticisms.

I recommend the OnlyPosts feed if you don't have it already, for showing only posts by people you follow (it even excludes reposts, which is handy).

Maybe it works to get the follower number higher, but I wonder if it actually translates to meaningful engagement.

Same! I only follow them back if I really think I'd like what they are putting out, but mostly it feels like bots / a marketing tactic.

To avoid that, I never tell anybody about my writing. I aspire to the Duke Silver / Pynchon kind of life.

Worst in terms of difficulty and time consumption.

Breakthrough. Where's the damn edit button. Wasn't I literally just talking about how #editing isn't so bad anymore.

Just asking out of concern and curiosity, I might be wrong.

Wouldn't posting full chapters online make it more difficult to trad publish later?
I don't know whether it is true, unpublished myself, but I've heard: if it's been published in part online, then it's as good as self published at that point and trad publishers are less likely to touch it.

I feel like I need to wade deep to find the real people. It's sad, but I really believe dead internet theory is becoming if not already become a reality.

I'll bet all the signs were there that the volcano was about to burst and Pompeii was just like 'Nah, Vesuvius is just a bit smokey today'.
Even if that is true though, still not as dumb as present day.

I've heard this but I always struggle to believe it.

As with writing, as with death, as in the bedroom.

Nice work! Do you find dialogue changes more on rewrites because the characters voice becomes clearer over time?

Probably not super important so long as you remain easy to find through name or by having a website with links to official channels. Guessing though, I only use Bluesky for now.

You'll never win at limbo with a resolution like that.

I've used Libre in the past and have been tempted to go back to it recently.
