Now this is a World War X

DeLoreans

Fix the Fw-190 with this one simple trick.

Wish I was recording, but I am in awe of how good the WWII planes in DCS sound. No other sim even comes close. For some reason these things have the sound design out of like a top tier EA (like the Electronic Arts EA) game like Battlefield or Need for Speed back when they used to make games.

I've only played WWII stuff in DCS (via trial) a couple times, but each time I come away completely amazed at how well modeled and "alive" the WWII planes feel. The sound effects are phenomenal and the damage models are some of the best in the game. They are fantastic in isolation.

I don't really play WWII planes in DCS since it seems kinda pointless given the complete lack of cohesion to make any kind of remotely accurate mission. However, I did end up flying the (trial) I-16 as a pretend A5M online in the (Free) WWII Marianas map on the WWX server and had a blast.

I tried to play Star Citizen again. After taking the elevator to the hotel lobby I randomly was teleported in front of a subway train and died. My second life I woke up in a hospital bed and had to step over all the dead bodies to eventually get to my spaceship.

This game's real good! I played it on launch and I thoroughly loved it. Great take on the "building a thing" type game because you actually do stuff and build things for a reason in a finite campaign with goals and missions.

Asking me to name a character when I start a new game can, and has, filtered me and prevented me from playing a game.

I can't think of an appropriate place for my game to have a save icon but I really want one.

a save icon

Hell yeah additive UI 😂

One of the funniest things about X4 is that I've been saying for so many years that X needs a fresh start and to toss the baggage and cruft the series had built up over the years. Now that X4 has ACTUALLY done that, I find X4 completely overwhelming and I have no idea what I'm doing or what to do.

As somebody who has large folders with lots of images in them, it'd be really nice for an OS to natively support adding tags to images so you can quickly search through them using tags.

One of many "outtake" landings where I almost hit a building, overshoot the landing pad, and then overshoot my correction to face the correct way.

Okay so I swear I'm not landing badly on purpose. I know for a fact you can land a lot better in Star Citizen because I've done it before, but I'm pretty out of practice and can't be bothered to rebind everything. I think the biggest killer is that there's no reason to ever pitch or roll.

Used Discord only in the browser today and I like how it's somewhat inconvenient and easy to forget.

Example of a "precision" landing. I think better landing UI will make this kind of thing a lot easier, and I have some ideas for that already. In Star Wars (and Star Citizen) some landing pads require you to descend through doors with very tight clearances. That needs to be possible with this.

Making myself mad listening to an interview with the Unity CEO hosted by an investor and a banker in a podcast talk about generating value. It is a deeply unserious room filled with doublespeak to raise stock prices. I can't take anything he says at face value. The actions do not reflect the words.

Surface flight model is 100% done for the little Transport.

A lesson in not making your PIDs and controls and physics too "good". I'm on the fence for allowing the player direct control of the main engines while in the landing mode because of one big reason critical to the whole purpose behind this: It looks bad.
