It was never about grocery prices just like it was never about trains running on time.

Quid Pro Quo, a little bit of "we'll scratch your back with money, you scratch our back with politics"

Whole day in the fridge, and it does taste a bit better cold, but mostly from texture since it firmed up some. I think perhaps if I were to try this again, one less banana and use just brown sugar for the banana portion to see if that gives it the extra flavor I missed last night.

Cool enough to try eating now. Eight bananas was too many, had some overflow during cooking. It's fine while still a little warm, but does taste like it's missing something. Maybe an overnight in the fridge will help and it tastes better cold. Either way, not a disaster, and I'll take that.

And in that sense, I keep having to fall back on the comfort that it'll get done when it gets done, I can only do but so much, time has to be put in and waiting is part of the process, and if I put a deadline on this then I will never be satisfied. Just let it happen at the pace it happens.

Something that I keep having to come to terms with is that, in conjunction with building this bookcase, the entire "New Year's Resolution" I had about not just building it finally but also improving every aspect of my furniture and personal belongings, is going to be a full year project.

All this to say, make concessions and coalition with left leaning people instead of voting blue no matter who to get people like Fetterman and Schumer. Invite those people to your table instead of leaving empty seats waiting for Republicans to abandon fascism to join you.

So maybe, in this predictable world of authoritarian tactics, we can stop talking about the past as if we disagreed on Trump, and start moving forward with a solution that takes into account how Democrats failed, while no longer listening to those who want to pursue the same failing strategies.

I guess a new expected timeline is mid-April for completion, and possibly March 18th for this first few shelves to be finished. I know this keeps getting pushed back since I'm working on it in my free time, but honestly I don't forsee this project getting pushed back until May, so it will get done.

I'm kinda putting cutting and drilling on hold, since I started staining the wood for the curio extension, and don't want sawdust to mess anything up. Will probably have to wait until next week to do the top coat, so I have the time to do it in one go. Stain will be dry tomorrow and covered.

The plot twist is that he was watching SNL for inspiration for how to resist, which explains a lot.

After that's all done, which should be in the next week or so whenever I have energy and can clean up sawdust, it's just a matter of predrilling the screw holes, countersinking, assembling and gluing, and finally staining. I hope to have all the shelves finished by the end of the month.

So I'm gonna route the discs so they get rounded, before I quarter them to make said feet. After that, I have a few boards I forgot to resize when I had tablesaw access, so my bandsaw will have to do for taking off >1/8 inch from some boards. Then more drill press/holesaw to make the normal feet.

I know I'm a few days late for the filing, so let's hope I have more opportunities to bake this. Honestly it's gonna become a staple in my cooking arsenal regardless.
