Honestly anyone being influenced by anything he says is an idiot. His job is to be funny, not to make accurate political predictions.

What you didn't get the two to four replacement Beatles where you are?

Don't jinx it, the voters of NYC will elect Kyle Rittenhouse

I had a cat that would attack my toes if they weren't covered. She died like 15 years ago and I still have to keep them covered lest her ghost get them.

Although I do have a playlist saved that's just "The Decline" and Skinny Puppy's "Fascist Jockitch" because it really didn't need a third song.

They were considering giving in until they got to the demand that they issue a statement saying a D from Penn is equivalent to an A at Harvard.

Err, 1905, and invented the first "practical" automatic sprinkler.
comment in response to post
Okay but the guy who invented automatic sprinklers and got rich selling them died in 1909, UL certification or not.
comment in response to post
WTF it was built in 1968. I was expecting the lack of sprinklers to be because it was a 19th century historic building or something.

Even in the "we collectively voted through our flawed system" sense, "we" voted to have a lying rapist as President, but I don't think "put US citizens in prisons outside the jurisdiction of the US courts" was even remotely on the ballot. Framing it that way suggests he has a mandate for this shit.

Ok but this thread is literally about Trump telling the president of El Salvador that he wants him to build 5 more prisons there to send Americans to.
comment in response to post
Have you read the 25th amendment? It's literally harder to use than impeachment.
comment in response to post
Wait did we annex El Salvador? I feel like that would be big news.
comment in response to post
He might. The things others in the administration have filed containing the phrase "under penalty of perjury" that are just transparent lies because they know there are no consequences are astonishing.
comment in response to post
I've got some bad news about who would decide whether to prosecute him for perjury

Epistemologists hate this one weird trick!

I briefly thought you were telling everyone that turning blue is a symptom that everyone needs to be aware of.

That would never win the primary over "actually the president is powerless and we promise to go back to acting like it"

Elon won't even go to low Earth orbit on one of his own rockets. He's not going to Mars.

Wait did you manage to get Amazon Music to stop announcing that your ad-free podcast was being brought to me ad-free from Amazon? Get them to stop advertising on Realms Unknown that if I was using the app I'm already using I could be not hearing ads on podcasts that aren't the one I'm listening to?

BBQ sauce is already like 50% ketchup so I'm not sure how much that changes things but they should totally bring the ketchup ones to the US
comment in response to post
The Lays ones are in the US, too. They rolled them out a couple of months ago.

Ok my new answer is the "How Hermes Requisitioned His Groove Back" episode of Futurama.

The Steerswoman series by @rosemarykirstein.bsky.social might count? It features travelling knowledge gatherers and the people who collate all the info

If he said "hey, this person being in the US is offending the penguins on Heard Island and making our trade negotiations impossible", I think the courts might have to just accept that.
comment in response to post
Notably, protecting American students in the US from fear isn't even a justification that makes sense under his statutory authority. He's supposed to make up a bullshit foreign policy reason and instead submitted a bullshit domestic policy reason that's got nothing to do with the State Department.

Also so many returns by people who thought they were ordering a porno player.

They said building a giant rotating prison on the TX-LA border was a horrible idea but now who's laughing

Even in the US we completely eliminated measles without universal healthcare. They managed to bring it back. 😡

The male victim was his step-father. Still a big age gap, but no reason to think they were together when she was a teen

If I were a federal prosecutor who was probably going to get fired for disobeying an illegal order eventually anyway, I'd get a grand jury to indict him for perjury right now.

You can't become a billionaire if your brain's "I have enough" switch actually works. Any non-broken person would retire to live a life of luxury and/or philanthropy way before hitting a billion.

Can we cede most of the state to Alabama first?

TBH it's getting harder and harder to value democracy. The demos is stupid as fuck.

She even forgot to say "mister". She just calls him "president"?
comment in response to post
I'm not a flooding expert but I don't think it's a particularly good idea to build right next to a mile-thick sheet of ice that you're hoping will melt as your city becomes warm enough to live in.
