My kid is light-skinned and I am brown-skinned. You think I'm not on alert whenever I'm surrounded by mostly white people (ie most of the time)? I'm in a fairly liberal area thankfully, but the fact that I cannot just be with my kid in public without wondering whether it's safe is exhausting.

This is an homegrown extremist movement that is only getting more radicalised by the day. And yet if you are a regular follower of British news and politics you could be forgiven for forgetting that there were literal pogroms against black and brown people last year.

Our bodies aren't even our own. A white woman can film brown and black people without our permission and still feel like she's the one in the right. She will then rally the troop and get other white people, especially far right men, to go on the hunt.
