Idk Claude is systematically writing 2 to 10 times more code than me for the same problems [I might be biased but my code works usually], so I wouldn't say it's good But it's still less worse than others for sure

The argument of humans can do it is compelling until you sit your ass in a Tesla and realize that the shitty webcams driving the car are absolutely no match for the 500MP we have in each eye that can see cars up to the horizon and not just barely up until the safety distance

So in terms of GB in RAM, a larger quantized model is better than a smaller "full" model?

Bitcoin-style encryption: everyone can see everything and know exactly who did it. Precisely the properties you want in messaging apps* * If you are an evil government

Kubernetes makes managing any number of servers as hard as managing 100 servers. Which isn't great if you have like 4 servers and you didn't intend on dedicating 3 of them to the control plane

From people that I know who work on talent sourcing in India, previous mandate already was a blessing for getting all the best Indian engineers back to India. People who worked 10 years in top US companies sent away to competing countries. That's so funny.

That's the whole point of OctoPrint/Bambu Handy/etc isn't it?

You have no idea. In Ukraine I've seen people walk around with stacks of drones. They build them in "clubs" that 3D print what they can and buy the rest on AliExpress (making China a main supplier of Ukraine, lol). It's fucking bonkers, no country is ready for this.

Pretty much. They might not have aircraft carriers but they will be better than anyone at striking anything anywhere undetected and for a fraction of the cost.

Believe me I share your pain 🤣 I literally just cleaned my desk by printing infinite amounts of drawers to store under it all the stuff that was on it (now there's new stuff on it but I'll print more drawers)

You should get into 3D printing, this way you can print custom containers to store all the little things you have. You can even print things to organize the mess created by the 3D printer, which makes it a self-fulfilling hobby

You could also write a JVM in Kotlin Native, that has to be fun

Write an operating system? -> Made a series of articles for Linux Magazine kos.enix.org (in French sorry, but these days automated translation is great right?) -> Read "Modern Operating Systems", the absolute beast that inspired Linus Torvalds (talks about _everything_ computer essentially)

I forgot internet was about making friends and not shoving ads into available brain time. Good times it was.

That. It's impossible to understand. I don't count how many times someone called me Rémi". Why not just copy paste names to be sure? Usually I pettyly reply back with an intentional mistake in their name 🙈

I really feel like the CTO community is struggling to exist. It would deserve more content hubs and events honestly
